I need someone to UVW map/skin a hilt for me.

Well, I'm really new to modding and everything, but I made a model of a saber, and it's good(to me at least), but the problem is i can't UVW map it...
so I was wondering if someone could do it for me, since i can't.

Here's the picture of the hilt:http://yfrog.com/14thehiltmodelp

Should should be able to. It's Unwrap UVW in the modifier list.

Yes, i know, but there's alot of stuff to mess with, and it always turns out wrong when i do it...
if someone is willing to, tell me and i'll send you a link with the model.

You're better off to ask someone to show you how, so you can do it yourself. That's what I did, at least.

That's what I'd do. Find someone willing to walk you through the steps so you know for any future project you might have.

Youtube is a good place to get tutorials for this sort of thing:

YouTube - 3ds max uvw unwrap tutorial

;)

yes, there are tutorials on youtube, but they don't explain it well, it aint much help, so, for now i'm using flatten map.

P.S. I just woke up, and I think the hilt'll be over soon.

Re: I need someone to UVW map/skin a hilt for me.

You need only the Unwrap UVW modifier. Use planar mapping for the large plate things and cylindrical mapping for the handle. Boom, you're done.

Stick a chrome shader over that and BAM! Done.

OK, you probably/really shouldn't use shaders to cover up stuff, but it's nice model regardless. Good work!

If you post a render of your UVW map, we can help you tweak it. :)

I'm guessing you're able to export this now from your other thread. if not I might be able to export it for you (no promises though)
