changing the head of a player model hi all! since jedi outcast i wanted to change the jedi trainer head with the one of the jedi "standard". is there any way to do it in simple way, i mean not using a 3D modeling program? i see in modview that head and face are already separated, and the face texture too. don't know how do it, but should be some kind of "copy&paste/rename" work! i really want to swap that heads ! thanks for the help! |
Re: changing the head of a player model I don't believe the face textures are 'UV mapped' the same way (A UV map is how the game knows how to apply the 2d texture onto the 3d mesh) so you're gonna have to get dirty with an image editor like Photoshop or GIMP. You can alter the files, and resave your altered ones in a PK3 (retaining the file hierarchy too, IE: models/players/jedi/face_head.jpg) and it will work in-game, so give it your best! There's plenty of tutorials in the sticky's here. |
Re: changing the head of a player model I saw HapSlash model with changing head and hand. I mean torso was standard but head and hand was ex. from Kel Dor. Someone know how make this effect? |
Re: changing the head of a player model hem....i think i explained bad. i need to swap an head and his textures with another! all the 3D model of the head AND the textures applied to that head should go on another body thanks anyway! |
Re: changing the head of a player model Then you WILL need XSI Mod Tool. |
Re: changing the head of a player model Whoa, I've never heard of Mod Tool. Dude, now I can finally edit models :) |
Re: changing the head of a player model If you want the jedi trainer to use one of the standard Raven jedi models just change the textures around. There are a plethora of skins like this on jk3files.com. If you mean jedi body as in one of Hapslash's then that will require more work. |
Re: changing the head of a player model You will have to resetup the head model as well as reweigh it if you wish to switch out the heads. Welcome to the art of frakensteining other peoples work. |
Re: changing the head of a player model Yes, a non-classy act most people look down upon. (Hence not suggesting it at first <.<) |
Re: changing the head of a player model are you saying that is a bad moral thing mix 2 default models? :( anyway it's not about skins, i need to move the 3D head model of jedi (the one with blue shirt in MP) on the jedi trainer body. that's all. if someone want explain me step by step how do it, i will really appreciate! anyway, thanks all! |
