i have a legal copy. it started happening after i added maps and characters then i removed em all and it still happened

Well that doesn't make sense. If the game is in its original state, nothing should be wrong.
Try copying your jamp.exe from your CD back into your GameData folder.

I get the error about once a month, usually though it happens once and a /reconnect afterwards is just fine. Know clue what causes it, but I have too noticed that custom maps/lugormod servers cause most of them, too.

ok its sorta working now. if I play a solo game on custom maps it still crashes but MP games with other people it works fine. anyway im done with the modding thing. i just got republic commando and im gonna play tht for a while.
