Is 1.5 able to handle triggers?

I've been trying to make a switch using two func_usables, one off and one on, and a usable trigger connected to them. But I do not get a little hand on the screen when standing inside the trigger brush, and nothing happens. I followed richdiesal's tuts so it's strange that it's not working, or is gtkradiant 1.5 simply that bad?

Certainly it's working in 1.5 too.
What usable trigger? Do you think a trigger_multiple?
Did you checked the use_player flag?

If you did these, and it's not working, maybe can you give us a print ('where is your trigger brush?' and the 'what are the trigger brush's settings')?

It's a trigger_once, but that shouldn't matter much.

The thing that says access denied is of course two different panels inside each other.

This is the trigger entity itself (although it says 'ammo_blaster'):

Re: Is 1.5 able to handle triggers?

You checked 'Facing', but you didn't give 'angle' parameter.
You must to give a good 'angle', or remove the 'Facing'.

Btw I think you should ude system/trigger texture on the trigger brush.

And it don't show, it's an ammo_blaster, you can change there the entity's type.

I did use system/trigger on the brush, the image is just missing (dunno why). What value for 'angle' do you recommend?

The first time I downloaded GTK radiant I had the same error where it didn't show the image's of any textures i "putted" on the "brushes". I had to reinstall/repair it and after that GTK radiant has worked 100% all these days. :)

Only the system shaders' images are missing, as you can see in the screenshot. I don't really mind, actually. I rarely use system shaders other than caulk or trigger or physics_clip.

I think first time, you should check, to is this working, if you deselect the Facing flag?

Btw the angle must to see to the button. I can't tell you, what should you set, because I don't see this in 2D :D

Maybe you need to install 1.4 too, that contains these;)

Well, here is a 2d screenie, but how would you tell from this what angle you need?

Re: Is 1.5 able to handle triggers?

If you check the facing, that means, you can't activate the trigger, unless your angle isn't the same, than the trigger, or +/- 45 degress. So it's angle must be 90, because it should to 'see' the trigger.
