That's an UVW map. When a 3D model is made, in order to texture it a UVW map needs to be made, it's basicly mapping 3D object onto a flat plane. It's the grid of whole model on which later textures are done. When textures are finished the map is then applied to the model and voila, you have a textured model.

That's all in simplified description though, if you need a more detailed one check it up on google ;)

I'd ease off on the reflectiveness a tad, and add some darker shadows. But that's just me, and I've never played kotor, so I'm not the best judge of what he should or shouldn't look like.

Except the colors on the breastplate and crotchflap look off, but that could be the engine. Even if it's not, easy to fix.

Who skinned that? The model is great, and amazing. Something out of a 2007 2008 game, but if we had real cloth physics..? Definately a 2009 era game model... But the skinning... it's beautiful!

There IS already a Darth Revan lightsaber hilt. It comes with the KOTOR lightsaber pack, and looks pretty effin' sweet. I'd reccomend taking that up, and tweaking the hell out of it. This is amazing!

Did Darth Revan use TWO lightsabers? And will you do The Jedi Exile? For starters, she is female. There IS one appearance that may be widely accepted by most people.

What models are you planning to do? This is obviously finished, and quite amazing... What's next..?

Apparantly you guys didn't read the wiki page. It was decided that canonically, The Exile was female. Go look up, "Jedi Exile" at wookieepedia. I agree with this article, 100%.

And I did not say that. Never asked for anything either. Don't mince my words.

I'd make the breast plate thinner. The character is sometimes mistaken for a girl.

Mine did. Two purple ones to be exact.

Most scenes in the games show Revan using a single lightsaber. However, I believe that Revan was a versatile fighter, skilled in multiple lightsaber types. Revan merely mastered the single saber as part of a traditional Jedi training regimen, and having long since mastered it, had many single bladed strategies available.

It's funny you mentioned that, Monster, because the developers included an alternate model of Revan as a female; I suppose they changed their mind about going forward with that idea.

omg.... If this model was like ported into RC or Crysis. There could be great mod possibilities. RC Order 66, Crysis KOTOR. OMG!! That is amazing man. Not sure how the cape would move at all in-game tho. I hope this actually works in JKA. I pray that even tho I don't play that anymore. Could you touch up on the robe and cape details a bit??? That's my suggestion.

That is the sentence I was having trouble with. I wasn't sure if a more recent version dropped the female version as it was not canon, or if you were referring to the female version being "decanonized".

Anyway, that is why I mentioned that the character was often mistaken for female. As many players got used to the character being female, but cannot claim he was, as it is no longer "canon".

Darth Revan is male. The Jedi Exile is female. That's that.

She also used a cyan lightsaber, and two purple lightsabers seems to be a very popular assumption for Darth Revan. The attaktix or whatever it's called, figureine of the exile is of a feminine form. With a Cyan lightsaber, therefore confirming Wookieepedia's sayings.

As for revan having feminine hands... Well, he was... Different. /joke

I took a screen of the alternate Female Revan model from the game from a model viewer for KOTOR .mdl models; I dunno why the head doesn't show up; it might be because the original intent for the alternate was to reveal a female face for it, I'm not quite sure about that, but anyway, here's the screen I took. You can tell that it definitely has female lines to it:

the head doesn't show up, because the face is dependant on who you choose it to be in your portrait.

as far as kotor goes, in the comics/books/lucasarts official plot etc. revan is male, he was talented with a saber and while he is often seen with a single blade, it's assumed he mastered duel wielding at some point, as in kotor 2, you fight his image and he's using 2 blades, one orange, one purple.

the exile was female. and i doubt i'll be making her.

I believe that was the model shown in the video I posted...

The head doesn't show up because the mask was a seperate MDL. I think there were ten different heads to choose from, five male, five female.

Yes the intention was to allow it to reveal a female face. It was actually used in the game, and I played as the female Revan.

yah, basically it was a plot device that "ZOMG!! TWIST!!!" you're playing as revan. so it'd be a bit fucked up if it didn't have your head, no matter what gender.

This was possibly an unmasked "Revan" character for a TV commercial. Frankly, I'd go with this one if you wish to do an unmasked variant. It seems to kinda portray the whole revan feel.

That, and this face is very similar to the first one I played as. The one with the military buzzcut. So if you do actually use anything from that game as a basis, that face would be an excellent start.

Kay'... But the most likely one is the military cut one. Think about it. You're supposedly a republic recruit on Bastila's ship. It makes sense to have a haircut like that. Not only that, but you've also got the whole picture up there of the actual guy, bearing a very scary resemblance to said in game avatar.

So, that one makes more sense.
