[help] model compiling hey guys i finally managed to finsh weighing my palpatine frank for those who remember. WEll now the problem i have is compiling it. i make the model.car and all and when i put it in carcass it gives me this error and closes. http://img359.imageshack.us/img359/1...mexporting.jpg i dont know what it really means, thing is i weighed everypart from caps to model. |
Re: [help] model compiling It means exactly what it says, vert 0 has no weights, in XSI all vertex's are numbered, find vertex 0 and make sure it is enveloped to a bone. |

Just check the hips in your modelling program and make sure every vert is weighted. Usually, if your vert 0 already has no weights, it's safe to assume that it's not the only one you've missed. |
Re: [help] model compiling Sorry to tell you i have trouble understanding. usually i just select my parts like hips legs and weigh them to the bone so i have trouble understaing why one vertex (dot) would be apart from the other ones? and that i would need to weigh it apart? sorry my thing is more mapping and i have trouble with this whole weighing so sorry again. ;) |

Also, tell us which modelling program you use please. The actual process of weighting varies a bit between Max and the XSi tool, so knowing which one you use is crucial here. Generally, weighting is a process that happens on the vertex level of a mesh, so if you don't know yet how to manipulate the weight of a single vertex, you likely want to re-read the tutorial you've been using as that's the most fundamental and important part of the process. |
Re: [help] model compiling Thanks, first of all i work with XSI mod tools. and i read all of eclypse tutorial did as he said. weighted it and then compiled it. everything worked fine except the arms werent well connected to the bones so i did it again reweighted it to more bones and changed a couple of stuff. save it export it and when i compile i get this error. its notthe first time i weighted a model and nowit gives me this. you say it is because a vertex isnt connected. what i dont understand is why would one vertex not be connected if all i do is select the part like hips or legs and connect it to the bone. i never got this error before and i was wondering why i would ge it now ? |
