Mouth animations.... Hi, in which file can I find the mouth animation code for a model. (the code that makes the models in single player cutscenes moving their mouths when they speak)? |
Re: Mouth animations.... Uhh... It's not scripting which is responsible for that but just re-weighting the model. |
Re: Mouth animations.... Why would you need to re-weight a model to get mouth animations..? |
Re: Mouth animations.... Well if the mouth doesn't move during taunts and such, obviously the face isn't weighted properly. |
Re: Mouth animations.... Surely the actual animations arent anything to do with weighting are they? |
Re: Mouth animations.... The actual animation data is in the _humanoid.gla but I don't believe that is what is being asked for. Do you mean where in the code does it talk about the FACE_TALK1 animations and such like? Quote:

Re: Mouth animations.... Oh i see, but what i was impying was you dont need to weigh the model again if it has already been weighed properly to play mouth talking animations? |
Re: Mouth animations.... Without weighting the model wouldn't move at all it will just slide along the map with the arms at the side. |

Re: Mouth animations.... I was curious if the person asking was talking about default models. |
Re: Mouth animations.... I mean custom made models you can download from for example jediknight3files.com, some of them doesn't move their mouths when they speak in single player cutscenes, but some does. why is it so that some have mouth animations an some does not??? is it easy to fix that?? |
Re: Mouth animations.... Depends how good you are at weighting. Because the game sets the model itself to move the mouth (if it is weighted). You know it's annoying, I know when some modellers doesn't re-weight the face completely. But that can be fix. But I can't do it cause I don't have a proper program to do it. Maybe some good modellers like Inyri or someone else could do it. |
Re: Mouth animations.... Most custom models aren't meant for SP, that's why modelers usually don't bother with faces, simply smack a simple rig there and call it done. To fix that, you'd have to re-weigh the entire model. Not a difficult task if you know what you're doing, but bothersome either way. |
Re: Mouth animations.... ok thanks for the information :p |
