Its not quite done, but here is a preview of my lastest weapons model.
I just figured out some stuff in my modeling program that will greatly increase my abilities in modeling. Which means I am going to redo all my previous models. The bummer thing is I just released the FN Tactical Shotgun and now I am going to redo it, lol.

A LONG time ago I had a Stargate weapons pack, with weapons like an assault rifle and shotgun and such with more accurate firing effects. I've been looking all over for something similar ut only found a really crappy m16 model.
Anyway, repositioning that forward hand would need a bit of animation editing. There was another topic a short while ago about realistic firing stances, even.
Egads, man. You really don't need the individual notches to be modeled in. You'll be too busy keeping yourself alive to marvel at the model's details. Also, I suspect there's a bit of smoothing group problems that also contribute to the high vert count.
"And that was when I realized that poking a sleeping dragon in the eye was a really bad idea." My personal opinions are the opinions, viewpoints and damn near exact words of the Inter-Universal Alliance of Cornavesalionecular Medo-isethonomic Searathon Magtherium Guardians.
I tried not to use the notches on the rails but it always looked cheesy, and since I am not a shader genious I don't have that benefit on my side. But in play I have no lag issues due to it, and my PC is becoming quite dated I doubt most people will have issues if I dont. But I will look into trying to lower it a bit, though I am still semi new to modeling. That being said I thought I did ok on it.
