Well, if FileFront end up getting that user profile thingy set up, we wont need one.

Eh, my best guess regarding the reason it hasn't been implemented, is simply because the network uses a shared database. It's just got way too much data in it, and having maybe fifteen SQL queries run against it by at least fifty people at any one time, would put too much strain on the webserver.

These servers can't even process the forum's member list without slowing down, stalling and/or occasionally flaking out. God only knows what'd happen if they had to run multiple queries against the entire network.

Well pcgamemods had that and they didnt have any submittion polocies thus they had 2x as much files and if you searched by author it didnt slow down.

But liek he said, shared database. Filefront has sites for I'd guess at least 40 games, and over 48 Tb of mods...PCgamemods may have had a few more JKA mods, but betwen it's five games to three dozen on filefront it really stacks up. Especially since most of pcgamemods' files were junky reskins and minor tweaks to already exiring mods.
