Well, upon a detailed perusal of el índice famoso de Google, it turns out that over 143 mod-related links exist (or have existed within the last five years) primarily featuring the term 'Deception'. 50-55 of them were duds, 11 either had only trace amounts of progress before being abandoned and/or were never started, and 9 are for games I don't own. The rest weren't actually mods; just stuff like AMVs or fanfics.

After filtering out the crap by changing search criteria, there were nine mods known as 'Deception' that I've played and/or heard of, and/or would be able to play if I so desired. One was a mission pack for Unreal 2, one was a Starcraft campaign, and a third was a Neverwinter Nights mod.

Five of the remaining six were Jedi Academy mods, the remaining one was a Jedi Outcast mod.

Of the six JK-related 'Deception' mods, five of them were nowhere near meeting the standards I'd consider release-worthy, mostly on account of the fact that they were nowhere near being finished but also because there was no real effort or work behind them. Five-minute jobs, would be a reasonable idea.

6:1 may be decent odds, but that's still a 83.33% margin of error. Honest mistake, right? :clueless:

Ok, well the Deception mod I'm talking about is the one with Assassin droids disguised as protocol droids.

Yeah. There were some points with really high concentrations of NPCs spawned at once. Especially in the large hall with multiple balconies if memory serves.

Other than that, it was really solid mapping, as can be expected from Shad. And I doubt any more modern systems would have problems even with those few CPU intensive places.

yea ive played deception but wasnt to keen on it right now im playing Escape from Yavin 4 ITS HARD im lookin for a GOOD Medieval SP mod cause i love using Swords

I tried downloading Escape Yavin or watever but the PC with JA is in my room and this PC is in my parents room so i have to write mods and stuff to CDs and go to my room and copy the stuff to my PC in my room. and i tried doing that and it said it was corrupted, so i tried again still same thing.

I might be getting Internet in my room soon so i could wait till then if the CD thing is the problem. And yes that IS a LOT of CDs. Right now i have a stack of about 9 CDs of JA and KOTOR mods. lol

Well, my personal choices would be "Colosseum" (Jake Keating) for Jedi Outcast, and "Syndicate: Initiation" (lassev, the mighty god of scripts) for Jedi Academy. Why those two? Because they're both a refreshing change from the usual "shoot'em all" mods, mine included.

@ Inyri, Lassev: Thanks guys

CrashmanX August 23rd, 2007 05:26 PM

hmm well i like surviaval cause its HARD but awsome ill have to try Syndicate cause ive never heard of it but ill do that later thx guys We NEED a sticky for SP STORY mods so people can find them
