Arrevanous 7 VII
 
Hello every one,
Well Arrevanous 7 V.I was a huge succes I must say I never expected to get file of the week, or for people to love it som much.
So I am happy to annouce that tonight some wghere between 8:00 pm pacific time and Midnight you will all capture the first glimpse of the V.II.
This time I have decided to go with a similiar theme as far as archetechture and mysticsm, however the loacation is very different.
Set high in the mountains ther terrain has allmost a fall like feel with a little bit of snow and the texturing matching the feeling as if it is late november and it has just started snowing.

there is several differences between this and the V.I a few of the textures for the terrain such as the grass and the snow will be fully photosourced from a friend of mines own front yard O-o.
Thus the textures will be more real, and unlike arrevanous 7 V.I each texture will actually sound different as you walk on it " some thing I forgot to do in the V.I.
each area will have different grass sprites and some new plant models.
and for all of you mappers I will soon upload a model pack in ase format of different plants for you to use some exotic some odd and some just new grasses and fearns maybe a few tree's.
I am acttually looking for a new tree model at this moment a ever green but I find a good texture, eventually O_o.

But any ways I though it was important to now tell you the story behind arrevanous VII.

Arrevanous VII is a ring of seven islands each a little different from the rest, some volcanic other tropical others known for there magestic beauty the story goes atleast according to the story line ive written so far is that arrevanous 7 is a divided kingdom among 2 sisters one who practices the dark arts the other practices life magick.
the kingdom was dived when there late father left the kingdom to the practicer of life favoring her for her outstanding beauty and kind heart, the other sister became jealous and turned agaisnt the kingdom drawing loyalty from the dephs of hell its self, convincing allmost half of the army of arrevanous 7 to follow her to the mountains or borodreimer, the place of the sacred mother..."this is what this map is based on " the ruins of borodreimer have stood for over 3 thousand years protect by anchent magicks and the sacred mother her self it is a haven for those seeking redemption, peace, or just to disapear for a while.

Ok so theres a slight teaser of the works ahead, now good folks I need you to tell me what you want in the next arrevanous 7 ^^

You know, file of the week doesn't actually mean that it's good. It's fantastic anyway, but I'm just letting you know.

Well I personally dont care if it got file of the week or not, I am simply posting to let those whop do care know that there is a v2 in the work's and that this time they can have a say in its production :)

Also when I do post pictures all contructive critism will be accepted, any flaming will be discarded. however the first thing I would like to ask you all is the biggest complaint above V.I was the music so if any one has and ideas please give me suggestions

One: What is that water shader you used, and where can I steal it from you? :D

Two: The music could be, well, not really music, just some water moving and splashing effect-ish-type-of-music.

Angel some suggestions here for your next version:

1. Improve your grass sprite, and make it more... naturally spread out. It seemed to contrast with the ground and be positioned oddly.

2. A sexy portal sky of some mountains in the background would add to the map.

Not looking too bad. Texturing looks kind of light and bland, and the Radiant your using is old, but looking good.

GtkRadiant 1.5.0 is the mapping utility for Quake 3 engine games. You can get it in the Tutorials & Tools sticky thread.

Might seem a little offtopic but you misspelled "Build" in your title just so you know :p

annyways the map looks really good and seems to have a light feel to it.

Looks good is this going to be like the last one? cause that theme is really peaceful and you dont see many maps you can relax on and just kind of hang ya know.
