Award-winning Production Group Seeks Staff

Do you want to work on a mod? How about working on a virtual film instead? Amorphous Blob Productions is an award-winning machinima (video game film) production group. Our Jedi Academy films include “Showdowns: Episode I”, “Star Wars: Gangsta Rap: JKA Edition”, and the recent “The Parable of Foot-in-Mouth”. Our counter strike source film “Machinima! With Officer Dan” was nominated for an award and screened at last year’s Machinima Festival in New York City. We are also an affiliate of jk3files.com. We have some incredibly ambitious films on the horizon and are looking to recruit new staff for the following positions:

-Voice actor

-Skinner

-3D modeller (weapons, characters, map objects, vehicles, etc.)

-Mapper

-Concept Artist

-Graphic artist –making promotional posters and art

-Sound designer

-Marketing –helping to raise hype

-Animators / coders

-Special effects editors / engineers

Our next Jedi Academy project is a sci-fi noir/thriller that takes place in a new unique universe (not Star Wars) that we created. Therefore, we are going to need a lot of custom assets. The movie is still in pre-production and we are in the process of hammering out a script. This short synopsis is the only plot detail we can release at this moment.

Ceren, the mining world. The Matahari system’s only source of sanguine, the metallic ore that powers space vessels….

Following the mysterious disappearance of sanguine miners on Ceren, Denton Industries hires Richard Hawthorne, a “dark coat”, to investigate. Renowned for their brutality and expertise, these mercenaries roam the edges of space looking for pay. But Hawthorne is looking for something more. His return to his native planet forces him to face his personal demons as he begins to unravel a horrific conspiracy that threatens to ignite an interplanetary war of epic proportions.

If you are interested please email us at amorphousblobproductions@gmail.com. Tell us why you are interested in joining our production group and send us some samples of your work (if applicable).

If you have any skills to offer at all, send us an e-mail anyways because we can most likely use your talents. We hope to hear from you soon!

Wow, that sound pretty cool. I'd be open for a number of those positions if my schedule allowed for it, but sadly it doesn't. If you are still working on it in June I can help as I will finally have graduated. :p

Have fun until then, and good luck.

Thanks for your interest. We will definately still be working on the project in June. Right now we are only in the pre-production phase. What skills do you think you would be able to contribute this summer?

Re: Award-winning Production Group Seeks Staff

I could do voice acting. I'll put up some examples in due course.

Voice actor - I have a moderately deep voice but I have some programs to make it lower/higher if needed.

Skinner - Here is my most recent work for reference.

Mapper - I haven't been able to finish any maps in a long time due to time and computer restraints, but if you want to see pics of my latest unfinished map I have a small gallery for you lol.

Graphic artist

Sound designer

Special effects - I will admit, I haven't done much work with effects in a long time, but I used to be pretty good (Click here!), so I don't think getting back into it should be too hard.

Nefarious Guy May 2nd, 2007 03:59 AM

Wow some very cool work Innocent Hawk. Can definately use your skills on the team when you are available. Do you have msn messenger?

People interested in voice acting, can you please email me a voice clip or two?

Thanks!

Innocent Hawk May 2nd, 2007 04:01 AM

Yes, I have MSN Messenger. I'll PM it to you.

Inyri Forge May 2nd, 2007 04:23 AM

You know you can always ask me for anything, right Nef? Skins, models, VA, etc. I think you know what my voice sounds like, right? :p

Nefarious Guy May 2nd, 2007 06:03 AM

Of course Inyri. Dont worry, i'll pile plenty of work on you.=P

I really appreciate your help.

Claud May 2nd, 2007 07:53 AM

Well, if your looking for graphic artists, Im an amateur signature maker and I am learning fast, If you want, I could help you out a lil

Crossbolt May 2nd, 2007 08:09 AM

I might be able to help you out in terms of concept art, although it is going to be difficult for me to get inside your head, so I dont know how helpful I can be.

Nefarious Guy May 2nd, 2007 10:03 AM

Crossbolt--Do you have any examples of art you can show me? If not, I can give you something to draw as a test.

If you joined the team as a concept artist we'd give descriptions but also allow room for imagination. And of course we'd discuss the ideas before you draw..wouldnt be too bad. Many ideas arent set in stone.

Claud--I'd be happy to see some examples of your signatures. Keep in the mind the graphic artist job would be to make film posters.

Claud May 2nd, 2007 10:26 AM

Well, with concept art and cool things I can do in PS, I could whip up some really cool lookin things, I don't exactly know what you want, but just give me a holler and I'll try to create whatever it is you want.

Crossbolt May 2nd, 2007 11:02 AM

I have a few examples of my work here. Most of them are character references, but that doesnt mean that is all I do. It would probably be best if you actually sent me something to draw. Then we can see if my skills are up to snuff.

Nefarious Guy May 3rd, 2007 08:52 AM

Wow Crossbolt. Those are some excellent drawings. We can definately use you on the team as a concept artist. Do you have msn messenger?

Crossbolt May 3rd, 2007 02:20 PM

You've got a PM. I would also be able to do storyboards if that is needed as well. I can give you examples of a few I made a little later.

Tanqexe May 3rd, 2007 11:15 PM

Hm, this does sound interesting...

I can definitely do concept art, storyboarding, logos, and promotional artwork.

Samples here.

And well, I'm learning Adobe After Effects and more advanced Premiere techniques right now, so I may help with special effects. However I'm going to be in away on a humanitarian project for two months in Africa, so I will have limited time to do speed paints and promotional work for you by May 26, but then I'll be back around July 15 (bringing my laptop with me, so if you have a list of stuff you need, I *can* work on them while I'm there and update whenever there's net access).

Nefarious Guy May 4th, 2007 03:11 AM

Tanqexe, I am extremely impressed by your work. Truely incredible! We'd love to have you on the team for all the jobs that you mentioned above. If you have msn, PM me your msn info so we can discuss possible things to work on before you leave. As i stated before, I'm still working on the script so pre-production probably wont really kick in until July when you return.

Please register on our site too: Amorphous Blob Productions » Home

Thanks!

Tanqexe May 4th, 2007 04:39 AM

PM sent and site registered! Or was it registered on site... *brain dies*

Nefarious Guy May 6th, 2007 06:49 AM

We still have a lot of positions open! Dont hesitate to post! =)

Darth Parrot™ May 6th, 2007 12:14 PM

Well, I'm currently working on a huge mapping project of my own [Battle Over Tatooine] (which will be going over the summer).

But I might be able to help in my spare time with the mapping portion.

Nefarious Guy May 11th, 2007 02:34 PM

Hey Darth. We'd be interested in your help in the mapping area. Obviously, you are very busy on your own projects so please let us know when you have some available time.

Darth Parrot™ May 12th, 2007 04:57 PM

I'll probably be able to help you guys during the summer (along side working on my own project).

But first let me get through the end of the school year (ends June 14th). After then I should be extremely free.

Right now however, I might be able help you guys with some concept drawings.

Nefarious Guy May 14th, 2007 10:30 AM

Sounds good. Do you have any examples of concept drawings you can show me?

Nefarious Guy May 15th, 2007 08:25 PM

Also, Darth do you have msn?

Ailin May 16th, 2007 08:54 AM

First sorry I that I have been gone for a while, I just got a bunch of computer upgrades and had to install a lot of internet drivers stuff.

Second, I do have some examples. They're all phsical drawings though (I.E pencil and paper) (FYI I'm not that good with photoshop), I'll scan in my drawings soon and post them as soon as I can.

And unfortunately no, I do not have MSN. I can go get it though if it's needed, is it something that you Download?

Nefarious Guy May 24th, 2007 09:03 AM

Yep. Download it here: i'm Home

Isla Kamamee May 24th, 2007 09:27 AM

At some point during the summer I might be able to. I am working on many maps now, but half are personal, therefore not important to my priorities, and half of the remaining half are not very hard, so I might get everything else done beforehand, excluding the big maps...but those dont need to be finished beforehand. (nor does any, I suppose.) I would do the architecture, I could do the shaders and textures, but that might not be the best quality, as I am studying level design and enviroment, not shaders and textures. Then again the two have intersected because I dont have a team or anyone helping me so far. I have read through the entire Q3A Shader Manual, but I havent memorized the syntax and commands yet. If you want some samples of my work, just email me. ( islakamamee@yahoo.com ) I dont have any pm or anything like that. (Just a note) Oh, and I'm going to various camps that teach Maya and the like this summer, so In the beginning I won't be here much. I know how to use GTKRadiant, Maya, 3DSMax, Rhino (not so much), Claytools, Zbrush, I will be trying Modo, Mudbox, and any other interesting ones this summer, if that will help for anything you need. I have a bit of experience from a teacher in 3DS Max, about up to particles, I taught myself Maya, and the rest I have messed with until I figured stuff out about them...Gtk has been in use the longest.

Darth Parrot™ May 27th, 2007 05:40 PM

Sorry it took so long, but I'm finally back with some of my drawings.

Mind you I'm not that great of a drawer, but I can make some pretty decent things:

Here's a drawing I did for my high school art class, the goal of the drawing was to try and use negetive space: http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p...rot/Nils_1.jpg

Here's a concept drawing I did for my "Battle Over Tatooine™" map, it's on lined paper, but it turned out pretty good: http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p...rot/Nils_2.jpg

Here's my first attempt at drawing an Anime character: http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p...rot/Nils_5.jpg

Here's a landscape drawing I did: http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p...rot/Nils_6.jpg

And finally, here's a concept drawing I did of your "dark coat" character in your story. I used one of my own methods for drawing it, it turned out kinda funky though, but I was going for a futuristic Dick Tracy kind of a person: http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p...rot/Nils_3.jpg
