And here's a disclaimer. You can go ahead and say my skinning sucks, it's a heck of a lot of fun anyway. Also, I didn't know Inyri did very much skinning. Not bad at all though.
I'm off to practice shader-ing!

I don't do much skinning. I texture all my own models, though, so it's basically the same.

That is the kind of spirit I was hoping for from this contest. :p

Curse you Inyri! Your skin is very similar to the one I had planned (right down to the shaders). >.<

*sigh* Back to the drawing board.

Tron meets robocop meets Darth Vader! Really... unintentional.

I thought i saw robocop in there, but i didn't want to sound like fool, like i usually do

Re: Contest WIP

I've never seen Tron or Robocop, so the similarities are accidental. :p

It is very good. Although that sets a very high precedence for the rest of us in the contest. I personally am very glad that the quality of skinning is not the only portion of the contest. If this were the case, I am pretty sure I would lose it hands down. That doesnt mean I wont try however. As it has been said above, Skinning is fun anyway.

"No... the pleasure is all mine."

Re: Contest WIP

The quality of the textures are only part of the skin (and mine aren't necessarily pro-quality). All the parts of a skin come together to make it as a whole. Presentation, creativity, subject, and quality (along with a lot of other things) are what make a skin, not just one individual aspect. This goes for all other forms of modding as well.

Of course in the end, after the finalists, it's a popularity contest, so... Can't speak for the rest of our community. They are not known for picking the highest quality work, though. They usually pick the "coolest" one -- the one they'd want to play with. So that's where the creativity part becomes really important. :)

FYI if anyone's interested in doing some voice work for this guy's soundset, let me know. I'd prefer to have something custom rather than using one of the default soundsets. Only offer if you think your voice fits the character, please.
