Torso and arm textures are TGA, the rest is just excessively bloated high quality high resolution JPG files. The TGA is to add light chrome effects to some of the metallic surfaces, tres-natural.

Yes and no. There is ShaderEd. I've never used it, because in my opinion all it does is keep you from learning how shaders work by doing the work for you. I have the same opinion on any program that makes NPC or bot files.

And how did you get that texture effect on your entry?
Which one?

Well, this is as far as I have gotten.
Spoiler:
Well, at least design wise. I have already created a wonderful character and past storyline, given him sound bytes and the likes, but as for the actual skinning portion, Nowhere near complete. I believe I am going to be using the Jedi R2 Model though...
I dont know how I am going to finish in time...

Blonde hair ball man? Just kidding, fire is pretty hard to draw. I like the patterning on the hand, not too sure about the mask though.

On the first post of this topic/thread, the image you posted, how did you get the textures so good? =_=, And I would if I knew how to do shaders the manual way, but then again how would you be able to preview them without going in game?

Err, surely you would want to know how a shader interacts in-game...

Use ShaderEd.

ShaderEd fails at previewing. It simply can't render all of the elements you'll see in game, so it'll be a relative preview rather than an actual preview.

I spent hours working on them. And they weren't all that good.
As for how many skins have been submitted -- few (which is a good thing, because it means people have been taking their time). I have not looked much at them beyond making sure they abide by the contest guidelines, so I couldn't tell you if they were interesting or not.
