I agree with manjak: wait till all player models are ready and ask permission to reskin them from hainu. I don't care who'll do player models all I really care is quality and Hainu is doing great job if not perfect

and what comes in total conversion: I don't think we'll get scripters and mappers enough and then there would be also voice acting and story to think about (although I've been thinking TC myself and got small backgrounds story for it)

no, I'd make them Cell-shaded, cause they have one-color tone in their textures... you know what I mean? yeah? ok ^^ not? they have only ONE COLOR for one thing... it doesn't seem realistic, and well, without the cell-shading it looks... bad... the Jk2Files staff will make some bad things clear in the review... and for the TC... don't worry, for voice acting we can get some people... maybe I know something... and for the story and map making, well... I'm a great story-writer, the maps schouldn't be a problem if we get a good and fast map maker into this project... the scripts... I'll ask Darrow Linder, the maker of the Escape: Yavin IV TC mod... I have some contacts with him, so ... I would realy like it if the story would go after MMZ4... when he explodes together with the crazy doctor...

Thing is, no one is entirely sure what happened to Zero during the Elf Wars. That is, if he was even involved.

But there is a theory:

Zero was sealed, and was having a new body built for him so he could be free of his virus. Look how that ended up in MMZ1. X died, Omega sent into space, yada yada yada.

um Rbot humanoids are hardly realistic anyway look at the screenshots in previous pages they dont need cell shading i think it whould look terrible and ruin the models as they are and look at the sprites there very detailed and the colors are singular but this works if they were too dtailed it whould make them too complex megaman is a great game fro its simplicity no one has done a game like it before no one ever will again IMO

that is actually the reason why I'd like to take elf wars as story of total conversion. I could always ask capcom about story for it :D

This is already pretty big mod so why don't we make total conversion?
I can try to make some map scetches with gmax (when I have time) and someone else could actually make them with some real "mapping" program, we already have pretty much things together

so all we'd need is scripters, mappers, sound acters and full story for it, Then we'd also need homepage (and possibly own forums)

about story: story would tell the missing part of megaman saga, a time between x series and zero series: the elf wars
here is a flash game that has actually great start for this mod

Good luck contacting Inafune, is all I can say. Capcom USA only knows what they get in their press packets from Capcom Japan. And let's face it: Capcom Japan isn't going to tell you the secrets of the story because why would Inafune bother to answer one person's question when he's probably working on the story for the third Rockman ZX game by now.

First rule of fan stuff: Never base it on other fan stuff. It's annoying to see that two things have the exact same start-up and in reality they just end up having a different plot twist somewhere. Really does high notes for originality.

It'd be far more true to the Rockman Zero style than you think, just look inside the spoiler tag.

You don't even make sense, there. Look at the artwork. It is far far FAR more detailed than the sprites ever will be. Also, to note that Capcom often leaves certain details OUT of a sprite. Case being Zero's X1 sprites and his X1 artwork. That's the most obvious.

Also, I have tough questions for the modders:

How is Omega himself going to be coded?
How is the Dark Elf scenario going to be put into play?
How is Zero's saber going to work? (and it better not be like JA's or it's not really a TC. Total Conversion is a total conversion, after all.)
Will the mod feature any multi-player?
Will the mod end up breaking FileFront's policies? (because a mod of this nature seems like it would)

yeah it isn't minor list but I've seen longer lists, It's a shame that so many total conversions are not going to happen just 'couse there isn't enough modders interested about them

so what's new you ask? nothing and almost everything.
I've decided story(s) for tc and "fate of project zero"

so first "fate of project zero"
It'll be weapon mod with menus and everything that's ready so far and more like I planned first

then that tc thing
I don't know am I going to start doing tc but time will tell, I have small story ready for it and it might work but it would be separate thing from "project zero"

so that story in very short:
wily makes zero, and zero kills everyone while megaman tries to stop him

it would be ending of original megaman series

Ok people, I got it... will start to write th story... Willy makes Zero, Zero kills everyone but Megaman, while he wants to stop him, than megaman beats him, and when he could kill him, he didn't, and than Zero stood up, killed megaman, but than willy reognizes that he's too powerfull and makes his power "out". Than he's being bound on the cables, where we find him in Zero 1. he's been bound there for let's say... hm... 5 years? 10? 20? ok, 10 ^^...I'll write the full story and happenings, than I'll send it to you, hawke.

Oh, and Hainu, can you send me Megaman Zero plz, cuzz I'll make it with the black outline and cell shaded, than I'll show you how it would look in game please... the .3ds file and weightet with NO ERRORS... thx in advance..

see there only one problem with that story u missed the ENTIRE X series where Zeros from and the time Zero spends a sleep is like 100-200 years
but i like the general idea for the story

Well actually I was thinking that megaman would make a fatal wound on wily (in the ending) and after that zero would kill megaman (Just after megaman has shot dr.wily a beam saber pearces his chest and megaman hears voice that says "good bye... hero" after that zero would cut megaman half

after megaman is killed wily seals zero in a capsule (like dr. light did for X) with his last strenght

and those who are thinking "megaman cannot harm humans 'couse he is bound by Three Laws of Robotics: he broke those "chains" in megaman 7

in start bass would help wily escape prison where he was sent in end of mm8 'couse he wants to fight against zero (as some of you know bass thinks he is the strongest robot in the world and fights only to prove that) after that there would be 8 robot masters with zero wreacking havoc over world

so that would be my story

I don't think I have time to make total conversion but when "project zero" is ready I'll let you use elements from there to make TC

Well dr.light made megaman x in mm7 (if I remember correctly) and bass stole his blueprints with Super Adapter so zeros desing is actually based on megaman x

so X would not be playable character 'couse dr. light sealed x in capsule for ethical and moral diagnosis

Simple answer: you'd edit the animation sequences and rig your models to the new skeleton in lieu of the default one.

Longer answer: you'd open the GLA animation file in Dragon, edit the roll animation sequence to be replaced with the style you'd like for the dash, then you'd recompile the GLA under a different filename, open your player models in 3DS or XSI, re-rig them to the new GLA, go through the full process of getting the model in-game, and then pray to hell that Jedi Academy will accept a player model that doesn't use the default _humanoid skeleton. Failing that, sell your soul for a jaffa cake.

About the tarantula: man, that sucks. Can't say I'll personally mourn having one less spider in the world, what with me being arachnophobic, but hey - to each his own.

dash animation would be same as in force jump (long jump) so what I mean is that can I change it with text files like .menu or something. 'couse that sounds complicated

.menu files? No. Those have no relation to animation sequences, nor do text files.

There's no pre-defined parameter for it anywhere - if you want rolling to use the same behaviour as the "superman" jump, you'd have to edit the source code in order to make the roll command perform that technique.

Otherwise, the closest you can get is modifying the animations.

that would be one of castle bosses but I'm looking totally new robots that hasn't been done yet

"Megaman: Cataclysm" would be name of TC and I thought that I'd put four old robot masters (I decided them already 'couse I already made weapons for them) and four totally new ones, use your imagination people.

of course there would be more old robots than those four but they'd be in wily's and Zeros castle

When I finish synopsis I'll put it here (under spoiler tag 'couse there would be short version of story and that would be huge spoiler to someone who doesn't want to know story yet)

do you mean lightman as weight or as brightman ('couse brightman and blizzardman are old robot masters if I remember correctly blizzardman was in mm6 and brightman is mm4) and about: zeroman wtf?

Heyy Hawk.
I've been following this project for a while now..
Just some constructive criticism.

The models I have to say are pretty awsome..
But what just bothers me is the 'flowy' looking texture.
I mean, zero's saber in the reference pic of him dashing forward is quite glassy and transparent, not with a 'flowy-laser' look..

It should be glassy and a slightly flat colour like..
the trails of this.
Whiteless Saber, Jedi Knight 3 Downloads, Jedi Knight 3 Weapons
And.. i think these trails could also be used. Just my opinion.
As for the shield boomerang..

I noticed in that TMNT model pack that was released the nanchaku had a shader that made it appear to be spinning all the time.
Wonder if that could work out?

And lastly, the chain rod.
i'm sorry, but in my point of view it just doesn't seem to fit in.
This is because the chain rod was a flexible chainy weapon, not a standing one like a saber..

I don't know. It's all up to you.

That effect wasn't from a shader, it was from the .sab file(I like to poke around pk3s. Sue me). The chain rod might look better if you make it like the Grayfox sword from the revan dark weapons pack, cuz it would look more like its supposed to. Still not quite like its supposed to, but more accurate.
