It occured to me the other day that a hoverboard might make a really cool vehicle. I was thinking of overwriting the swoop with various designs of hoverboards, becuase I think it would make t2_trip in SP hilarious.
Naturally I'm going to increase the size of the hoverboard, and the animations still need to be tweaked, but in practice it works like it's supposed to. Any thoughts? (It's untextured, before anyone asks.)
No real questions, but I thought of making something like that before, the engine SHOULD support it beautifully, and your board looks great. Also digging the way the stance looks with it.
That'd be real cool. Maybe you could somehow add a kind of blur effect slightly underneath it to sorta make it look more..hovery...? If that makes any sense..lol

I was thinking maybe sort of a glow, maybe in circular rings as a "hover" pad.
Click the above image for a video sample of how the hoverboard currently looks. I will increase the size tonight, so the feet aren't half off the edge, and I am open to suggestions for designs for the hoverboards. I'd like to include several, so feel free to give as many ideas as you can come up with (or even design some of your own).
Sweet idea. I know I'm a little biased, but what about a design similar to the hoverboards in Dirge of Cerberus. Not like it has to be, but it would give it some style, unless you are shooting for the back to the future look. I can post some screens if you like.
I can't imagine a hoverboard being anywhere as near as loud as a swoop, some mebbe some quiet noise would work...
As for the attack animations, I can't say I care a whole lot for them. If the target is gonna be on the ground, that could go right over their head. Mebbe if you had a swing like the animation called 'Both_a4_br_tl' for the right side and 'Both_a4_bl_tr' for the left?
