Ah! Post jump! I love the Swedish one, (The map that is! :naughty: ) but that fog does ruin it. Oh, and why is the flag see-through?

Iswer's WIP
 
Here's some of my projects.
The most recent project (the first one) is the medieval map. I think itll be finished in a week or so.. at most..
The second one is a duelmap, that just got to be betatested.
The third one is an old mapproject that came to the betatesting.. but it was too buggy.. maybe Ill start build on it again.

NOTE That these pictures arn't final. F.ex. The most pics are just a basic light -meta compile!

The Runestone there is actually a real one from sweden ;)
And the watchtower up there is based on swedish design (yupp, swedish theme)

Beautiful, simply beautiful. I think the medieval map is great, and perhaps they field can be added to the medieval one as a portion of it.

It just reminds me a bit of Hyrule - very cool.

makes me think of a lot of the old quake 3 maps. I can't say I like the atmosphere though-- prob'ly cuz its just a meta.

I don't get the platforms. Perhaps a closer shot to show us what they are?

Looks good so far archetecturally and it seems like you have a nice texture set.

The platform arnt finished, since I began to build on it after the beta. =)
The idea with it was that There should be a Alien (/marine) -spaceship on there.

hmm maybe for a medevil map.... some medevil music... i mean like the ones with guitars and the instruments they used to play with
Or maybe a natural mix of music, birds, wind flow, ...but any music in concrete

Its quite good, except on one place.. when down at the grassfield, looking up at the church and wall..
However, Its working fine on the other places.

Area portal ALL the doors-- and you should note that when you do a VIS option compile, FPS turns out better by 10-20 points.

Hint brushes would also probably be nice to FPS, but you need to learn how to use them. Take your time reading the tutorials.

would be a great song for the map ^ a clip to see what it sounds like

Whoa, im impressed, it reminds me of something out of Medieval Total War. The fog is a bit irritating though, i know because i had that on a map that i started making once lol...

I think what i did to fix it was make a really big skybox, much bigger than the actual map, and then just place the fog only around the actual map, so that it didnt fill the skybox. For some reason that seemed to fix it, and the skybox was covered by the fog like the rest of the map, so you didnt get the effect of having a foggy map and a clear skybox.

I hope that is of some help to you m8, keep up the good work, i like castle maps!

This map is becoming unplayable because of the fps..
Right now, when its a lightcompile, the fps really stink. Help me out! (there isnt a single door in the map).

However.. It looks better tho.. Ill show ya.

1.) which music did u decide on?
2.) why is it that ur using all tp and not doors since I've seen the FPS droop when multiple TP are ocuring

well, I know what water you mean, and I dont really know if that would fit into the map..
1.) I decided to have a wind-ambient as "music" and several other ambients as sounds all around the map - such as more wind at the wall, 'clink, clank'-sound in the forge, holy music in church, and so on.

I think he was asking what the FPS was on the map. It also looks amazing, I can't wait to play with it. I'll agree with the diffrent water shader though.Besides that it's pretty damn near perfect. I might make the flag look a little more flaglike, and tone down the goldness of the tower, but that might just be your artistic expression. SO! I love how the church looks aswell. I can see how the fps could become a problem..

It might be the church and the wall that is causing the bad fps.. But maybe its the windows too. Ill try change all the windows to clamp-maps.. Maybe it will work alittle better then.

Okayokay, I get it, Ill change the water. Ill let you guys decide (will be up with pictures with different watershaders soon)

look a little more flaglike, hmm? tell me how! :D

And there will be gold at the clocktower-house, but I could remove the glow from them..

And how do you propose to have boats in a game which has no support for aquatic vehicles whatsoever?

Unless you're going to suddenly build these guys a new game engine from scratch, it might be wise to suggest things that are actually possible, instead of the first random thought that comes out of your head.

Have you ever seen a boat in Jedi Academy? No?

That's because the game has no code for them, therefore even if you made one the game would have no idea what to do with it.

It's map object or zilch as far as boats are concerned.

I"m not sure if you have room for it, or if you could do it without making major changes.. but you could add a wall in the middle or in between the middle and the water area. Then you'd have a seperate "docks" area, and a "city" area. Of course, you'd areaportal the gate. May help FPS. Looks good so far!

Also, I think a static ship (or two?) is a good idea.

If you created a vehicle which floated, and kept it tightly pressed between npc no entry brushes or whatever the shader is in the system directory you could easily create a boat illusion.

raid 3 the map has a speed boat now with a little model edditing (or a lot) it could be possible

ya u make a boat swooop and increase the hover hight/power forget which one and it will float and then just make to steep of a brosh so the swoop cant go over it ive seen it done before

Iswer you are correct it is from a swedish group .

I can get more songs if you want. This song was just my 1st impression . I feelt that it might fit your map after I viewed your awesome screens. I knew you needed something with a dance pace, with mystic qualities and class.

I have more quiet and slow songs that are like a gathering . They are more collective and mysterious as opposed to this song which is loud in a medieval style and ready for a war or duels.

Hahahahah. I am film director amature so I was able to look at your screens and visualize a scene and the music choices came clear. I have a few more songs I might consider worthy of your map.
I do have more for you and I would of course help your projects in any way I could. Especially when it's so easy :lol:
