Re: [WIP] - Metal Gear Solid series pack

This whole thing is a veritable treasure trove, I tell you. :P I've been playing Twin Snakes for so long that I had almost forgotten what the old voices of Mantis and Ninja were like. IMHO, the new ones are a lot more sinister, which fits well for their positions in the game (Mantis as an evil boss man, and Ninja as a kickass soldier-slaughterer), but I'd almost forgotten that Mantis was Russian! :o Quite a few of Liquid's lines seem to be left out, as well.

TBH, in the end I'll probably end up using a mixture of sounds from original and TS. Still, this is a TREMENDOUS help.

Well if you decide you need more, just let me know. Im the only person I know with the original disks from psx, and I've never played Twin Snakes.

Sorry for leaving things out. Everything was grouped together and with the speeds being doubled, it was a tad hard to tell what was what. I thought I grabbed almost everything, but it has been soo long since I've played that game that I forgot most of the diologue and the (should be)famous lines. Perhaps I will play through it again soon....

I... used to have the original disks for MGS! I really want them back... they got scratched and junk. One of these days I think I'm going to buy the game again.. it was one of the best EBAR.

I've actually got the original discs, too. I just wish I knew how to rip the sounds. :(

If you'd like, I can upload the program to filefront and sent you the link. Its a pretty small program, and VERY easy to use.

Here you go.

The program pretty much explains its self. But if you need help I think there is a readmy and a help file. You can also ask me.

Hope I helped.

I am definately downloading your skin pack when are done. I thought of doing a "remake" of a few scenes using your skins and some conversations from MGS, but that kind of movie would be hard and I dont have the talent...

Re: [WIP] - Metal Gear Solid series pack

I checked both readme and help file, and didn't find the answer to the question I had. I inseted the MGS disc into my CD-ROm drive, then his File>Scan CD-ROM. It returned only four entries, three from Otacon and one from Baker. What happened to everything else?

The help file talks about DEMO.DAT, VOX.DAT and STAGE.DIR, but when I tried Scan File and navigated to the drive with MGS in it, Windows asked me to insert the CD-ROM again. -_-

Do you have a DVD rom? If so, try putting the disk in that drive. DVD roms/burners can ready other types of data that CD roms cant(besides the obvious dvds).

Thanks, it works perfectly now. I found the Ocelot sounds.
"There's nothing like the feeling of slamming a long, silver bullet...into a well-greased chamber."
Why does that sound vaguely perverted? :P
