Halo effect What I have is a GFX image of a halo, and I'm trying to get an effect similar to this: http://www.unf.edu/classes/freshmanc...on-sinai6c.jpg so that the halo appears behind the head whichever way you look at it. I also would like a second version, which appears the same size from any distance (ie. not affected by perspective) if this is at all possible. |
Re: Halo effect thats definately possible by using shaders, i mean ive seen someone blow up a character's head (make really bid) purely using shaders. unfortunately i have no skill whatsoever in that area |
Re: Halo effect You mean the stormtrooper with the enormous head? I'll look into that. |
Re: Halo effect yeah thats the one, from what i saw there, its very possible to do what you want |
Re: Halo effect Hmm, I can't find it. Is it on jk3files? What should I search for? |
Re: Halo effect Quote:
edit: However that doesn't answer my question. All that does is deform the mesh. |
Re: Halo effect you need to make a polygon around the head of the model and place a sprite shader on it with the halo as the image. the special paramater you need if the halo is a perfect circle is: deformvertexes autosprite |
Re: Halo effect Err, Aside from the fact I have no idea what that meant (other than deformvertexes, and circle) is there an easier way to do this? Actually, vevermind, I've just thought of a much simpler way. One more thing though, how can I make a texture show up through walls? (Like the repeater in the izzy survival 2 does) basically, a glowing texure (which I know how to do do) which also shows through walls? |
