How do I make saber overwrites Can you please give me a description of what to do so I can make my downloaded hilt into a overwrite so it takes of a default hilt.http://forums.filefront.com/images/smilies/pwned.gif |
Re: How do I make saber overwrites If this is for personal use, you can insert all the files (of your saber) into the corresponding spaces (of the saber to be removed) in one of the pk3's in Gamedata:base (I forget which one, I THINK it's one of the assets). |
Re: How do I make saber overwrites Pick a saber you want to overwrite, make a new PK3, make the directory structure to that saber's folder (ie for single_1, models/weapons2/saber_1). Copy your new saber's content there. Rename the new saber's GLM to 'saber_#.glm' (in this case with our single_1 example, name it saber_1.glm). Leave all the other files alone. Save this up and try it out. Once again, NEVER EDIT ASSETS FILES. |
Re: How do I make saber overwrites Never edit the asset files directly, it is better to extract the contents, in this case the directory: models/weapons2/saber_1 from assets1.pk3, simply replace the files located in that folder with the files you want, then simply make the directory a .pk3 and place it into base. EDIT: Ah... why do you have to be so fast Inyri...? -_- |
Re: How do I make saber overwrites OK sorry about this but im a uber noob. Do I make a pk3 and put the files inside the pk3 of the saber i want to use. Oh ya and how do I create aa new pk3 in the base folder? |
Re: How do I make saber overwrites Pakscape. Look for a link to it in the tutorial/tools sticky. |
Re: How do I make saber overwrites You need a software that allows you to compress files, for example winrar, or you can also use pakscape that is supposed to be good (I have never tried it...) Once you have extracted the files or directory I mentioned and have made the proper modifications, you select the folder, in this case /models, right click it, and choose "add to file..." Set the format to ZIP and name the file YOURMOD.pk3 Place YOURMOD.pk3 to C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy\GameData\base directory. ***Keep in mind that I used winrar for the example*** |
Re: How do I make saber overwrites OK I opened up saber_2 with pakscape (This is the one I want to use) and I got the master sword in my base folder....Ok can you tell me what to do in a simple version for me? |
