Probably because he thinks he will "pwn" at mp when he gets his altered damage server, and probably he doesnt know that he cant use a saber that has not been uploaded to the server. Or maybe he is just not good enough to beat sp with the default saber damage. If thats the case, man, you will never improve.
Ok, thanks for everything, I will try what you sugested.
And about the damage, I dont know what I want yet... experiment and see. I was allways atracted to realistic damages, like when the opponent scores a hit across your body or neck you die instantly - not 10 slashes at the neck and you. Thats why I play on the hardest difficulty, the one with 50 life.
I dont play MP no more. Maybe I would have if I had a better conection (i'm still on dial up ). There was a time when I played with my friends on lan, and it was pretty cool. Despite what you might think of me, I dont need extra damage to make my kills... I never cheat or try to.
The only things I would modify in MP are:
1. the huge unbalance between the 3 types of sabers (single, dual, staff). The satff is way too powerful (we have tested the sabers a lot) and can be dangerous in the hands of a chaotic newbie. The single saber (my favourite) can kill with a single stroke (red stance), but the hit must be perfect - no need to tell how hard that is with a chaotic player. The other 2 stances are kinda defensive and despite their superior speed they are pretty useless (deal less damage than they can heal). So the single strategy is obvious (red strike, then shower him with blue and hope he dies). The staff is so simple: hit-left hit-right loop. Disproportionate damage.
2. the way characters move. Much more lame than in sp, you cant move in a kata or in a combo, so they are kinda inefficient. And simple moves use force: how lame.

I can tell you have never dueled a real dueler... Any style if used correctly can beat any style. Single red stance is probably the most retarded thing that was included on JA, it is nothing like fencing, but not only that, it can be easily defeated by anyone with a IQ high enough to know when to evade and when to attack. Single yellow stance is good when not used by a spammer noob (unless you are playing on a JA- server, because that mod makes yellow almost completely absurd). Single blue stance is good only when used by someone with great timing and finger coordination. Dual stance is almost the same as single yellow but easier because it inflicts more damage, it is faster, and has more parry. Staff is the noob's weapon of choice because of the butterfly, but when not used by a spammer it can be a really deadly weapon.
Katas are idiotic moves that shouldnt be included because you only kata on a real life exhibition, they might look cool, but that doesnt make them useful.
