a question...or?...

I want to ask about how to create a model solid?
and a warning...in gtkradiant 1.4.0 I had much problems.
I uninstall it and installed an older version.
now all the problems works like it should.

The problems work like they should? Heh, you suck at English.

Anyway, use brushes with system/physics_clip.

Re: a question...or?...

but in some maps, the models are solid!
and I know I suck at english.
everyone say that!

GothiX June 1st, 2004 08:44 AM

Re: a question...or?...

So, as I just said, place brushes with system/physics_clip where the models are.

Re: a question...or?...

Right... you won't see the clip brushes in-game... if you only have a few models you can add the key/value spawnflags 6. Although I'm not suer how sparingly you should do that (and it doesn't work with misc_model_static)...

Re: a question...or?...

Never use that, except on large, simple models (i.e. terrain, which it was designed for), because it can screw up your map BADLY.

Re: a question...or?...

I didn't know it could mess up my map:eek: ....
thanx for the heads up... I'll be keeping that in mind...
...."terrain" = rocks and desert-mountain-style stuff?

GothiX June 1st, 2004 11:59 AM

Re: a question...or?...

No, terrain are the large hill models.

Re: a question...or?...

Seems to work for me, jsut type taht int he box when u press N.

Gothix, anything wrong with useing that?

iswer June 3rd, 2004 12:05 AM

Re: a question...or?...

I cant press N.
when I do that a window apears and then gtkradiant shuts down.

GothiX June 3rd, 2004 01:34 AM

Re: a question...or?...

Kahn, it's the same as spawnflags 6; however, 6 also has lightmapping. Once again, both keys were designed for terrain, and are NOT to be used on normal models.

Re: a question...or?...

Re: a question...or?...

Also, get rid of any viruses you have.

iswer June 3rd, 2004 11:33 PM

Re: a question...or?...

I have no viruses!
I have norton antivirus 2004 and get lots of other programs like zonealarm, pestpatrol
and ad-aware...
I have 512 MB Ram so I think gtkradiant 1.3.13 should work.
This popup shows when I press N (attached file).
I had that problem in gtkradiant 1.4.

hope you can help me.

Re: a question...or?...

re-download the latest version, and do a re-install. Remove any files related to GTK before that.

Re: a question...or?...

gtkradiant 1.3.13 have less bugs.

Re: a question...or?...

Yes, you do need to get GTK Radiant 1.4. It is stable and has several new features. No, you don't need to spam your thread. And, in case you didn't notice, he said that he would not help you anymore. So stop asking.
