Problem with lava I've textured brush with caulk. Then top and bottom with imp_mine\lava. When I played the level, this lava was solid. Suddenly, when I played map once again, lava was liquid! Question 1: How? And this lava was hurting me! Question 2: How can I change rate of burning player? I'm not using trigger hurt P.S. Nice text mods :) |
Re: Problem with lava It's caulk_lava, not caulk. 1) Only one face of a brush determines the contents of that brush, when you save the map, each time, the primary face of that brush can change. Sometimes it read caulk, sometimes it read lava. Using caulk_lava on all but the top side (where you apply the lava texture) will ensure it works all the time - N.B. You don't need to texture the bottom with the lava texture as that will be covered in caulk_lava which has the same effect but doesn't render. 2) Lava hurts at a fixed speed and is built into the game, if you wanted to change it you'd have to fake it. Basically make a new lava texture that is nonsolid and without the bit that says 'surfaceparm lava'. Next texture a brush with caulk_water and texture the top with your customised (non hurting) lava shader. Finally use a trigger_hurt to deal the damage. |
