My advice is, don't just jump into any clan. Hang around for a bit and get to know the people to see if you'll like it there.

Just look about the servers. Most JA+ clans (kind you would most likely run into) are the same anyway: All out ffa, duel, the odd tffa, admin abuse and taking the whole issue with laming far to seriously.

That didn't make any sense. If it were all out FFA, they wouldn't give a rats ass about laming. Roleplaying servers which use JA+ mind a whole lot about laming however, which is only natural since they'll want to preserve the realism in their roleplays.

Seriously lol pick a random server, chances are its just everyone doing a massive ffa with admins standing around chatting and anyone who lames get "dealt with". Even though its gotten to the point where laming is the only remotely fun thing left to do on those servers.

Its rare to find a JA+ clan (that doesn't role play) that do anything other than what I mentioned in my previous post. Its like the majority are off the assembly line.

Thought Base isn't much better (To many arrogant gits who think there "leet" on there), Lugormod is alright if you find a server without random crap that makes your FPS suck all over the place.

Yeah I was about to say the same thing. So you can't refer to it as a JA+ server, if it's exactly the same as any other Base JA server.

Amen to that, brethren. Saber competence is still decreasing as well. More and more people seem to strictly rely on the Strong Stance solely. Combine that with a "duel-only" atmosphere in many FFA servers, and honestly, it makes saber combat look like totally horse shit. It was one of many reasons that led me to quit actively playing this game as a whole, because there were too many incompetent players. I really think this whole "laming" rule has made many players complacent, making them favor just standing around talking about random bullshit.

Know those roleplay servers Tanith mentioned? They're not even really ROLEPLAYING. I've gone into many of them and all they're doing is talking about random stupid shit. Either that or just dueling..or admin spamming because someone challenged them on a trivial topic. I bet if I pick a random "RP" server off the grid and join, 9 times out of 10, they'll just be standing there drooling. Sure, there are exceptions, but they pretty much are drowned out by the majority.

RP servers aside, I emphasize how disgusting it is to see how complacent players are in this game. This game still has the potential to be a adrenaline pumping brawlfest, but it's attracting the passive and abused Star Wars kiddies. They(quite easily) gain power over other people and essentially take out their frustrations on other players and ruin their experiences. Unfortunately, while we can directly blame administrative mods like JA+ for their promotion of this paradigm, the problem goes VERY far back...how far? Eh, I'd say beginning of time, but I'm sure someone can find a more contemporary suggestion.

Eesh, time to seal the exhaust pipe on this one. Wasn't expecting to say that much, but then again, when do I not? ¬_¬

Sorry for hijacking your thread btw youngling, for searching for a clan I highly would suggest that you avoid JA+ & Base and possibly search out the Lugormod community or Movie Battles 2 (If your into this sort of mod I'm not personally).

Back to ranting: In my opinion JKA hit its peak sometime between 2005-2007 but it has been on a downwards spiral ever since. Back when I was a noob at the game JA+ clans were doing: merc wars (not just for admins only), clan training events, clan tournaments, regular clan matches etc, essentially pre organised events that were fun for a clans members. You hardly ever see that sort of thing now. Hell there even used to be a lot less admin abuse in general a few years ago.

On Base it used to be where you would find most of the most skilled people at the game and tffas, training and very regular clan matches were often and esl was a fantastic competition of skill. But firstly esl got crap and then Base as a whole became filled with arrogant gits who do nothing but poke and use scripts to win. This led to the actual good people quitting the game or go to JA+ servers to lame to see the admins over reaction (For humour).
