exclaim JK Series Forum Rules - Updated (July 23rd, 2009)

Things seem to have gotten quieter around here lately as far as rule violations go, so I figure we can relax the rules now.

--------------------------------------------------------------------
- No Profanity -> Profanity in Moderation
Profanity is allowed, on two conditions. First, you don't swear just for the sake of swearing. Second, you don't swear excessively. Also, don't use profanity to attack other members, or troll/flame.

With great power comes great responsibility. Same thing applies for extensive vocabularies, too.

- Derogatory Comments
Keep it civil. It's okay to be harsh, provided what you're saying is true, but don't let it get hostile, don't be offensive, and don't be a jackass.

- Thread Bumping
If the last post in a thread was more than four weeks ago, do not post in it. This is called "necroposting", and is spamming.

Posting in a thread just to ask for updates, releases or release dates also falls under this rule, as it is spam which contributes nothing to the topic, and only serves to irritate/annoy modders.

If you are the creator of a mod project, and the thread for that topic becomes inactive.

- Backseat Moderating
Do not argue about another person's posts. If there's a problem with their post, click the button and explain in the text box what you think is wrong. A staff member will then come, assess the situation, and act appropriately.

- Advertising is not permitted!
No advertising outside of The Shameless Advertiser. Rules in the SA Rules topic and the forum FAQ still apply, even in Shameless.

Clan adverts in the clan forum is a no-brainer, this is the only exception to the rule.

- JKFiles Site Policies
All JKFiles site policies apply on the forums.

- Spoiler Tags
Spoiler tags should be used for all spoilers, and also for any and every image posted that exceeds 640px width or 480px height. Spoiler tags are used like so:
PHP Code:
[spoiler][IMG]http://www.google.co.uk/intl/en_uk/images/logo.gif[/IMG][/spoiler]
- Forum FAQ
Obviously, all guidelines laid out in the FAQ apply, as these are global forum guidelines, i.e. the rules I'm supposed to enforce as written by the Pantheon of Gods (i.e. the WoW addicts who allegedly run this place )
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Remember, if you have a problem with a decision made by a member of staff, contact them via PM, keep calm and civil, and work towards a peaceful resolution.

If a user violates the GamingForum Guidelines/rules they may be warned, temp banned, permanently banned, or if you are really bad we may just give you to n0e so he can have some fun with you.

Posts can be reported via the button
which is located in the top-right section of every post.

You can also do more with your posts with the
vB code, click here for more information.
