Joystick craziness

HELP!?! I have a Microsoft Sidewinder Pro but it is too twitchy. How do I smooth it out? Are there console commands to set x,y axis speeds like unreal has? I never could play with a mouse. Damn things are to hard to catch...!

Please note that you will be eternally crippled if you use a joystick for this type of game. Learn the ways of the mouse and keyboard, then verily, thou shalst know the ways of the force.

Yeah I would never use a joystickfor jk2 like stoob said. Just use the keyboard, and get used to it. It's a lot better. Easier to.:nodding:
