Display Problems - Please Help

I installed JK2 on my new computer and tried running it. The console ran before the opening movies, as usual, but the screen flickered and shut off on me. It then displayed the console screen with the following log:

I read somewhere else that I may need to update drivers, but everything is already updated. My computer has the lastest hardware and meets all the minimum requirements.

Halo also doesn't work on this machine.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks Tallon100@hotmail.com

Re: Display Problems - Please Help

My stats are:

Dell

Intel(R)

Pentium(R) 4 CPU 1.80GHz
512 MB of RAM

This machine is just a little over a year old. I did look up the error reports at the Lucasarts site and found that error report. It is the OpenGL error. I performed the JK2 test when you click on "Help" on the JK2 menu and everything passed with flying colors.

Thanks Tallon100@hotmail.com

Re: Display Problems - Please Help

I found the problem.

I looked it up in the troubleshooting and found my video card in the list that does not support JK2.

If you really want to help, you can post a reply recommending to me a video card that is compatible with the latest games of today and would last for a several years.

This is a great forum.

Thanks again for your help.

Re: Display Problems - Please Help

I am not really good with graphic cards :(

But the Geforce FX or the ATI Radion 9700 pro is good

but you better ask an expert for that :deal:

Re: Display Problems - Please Help

But i upgraded 2 a ATI Radeon 9000 (want 2 get a 9200 though)
I dont think Nvidia cards are good I read in a computer magazine that Nvidia was puting a piece of intergrated software on the card that would allow the card 2 run the best it possibly could (even overclocking) for a test 2 post in other magizines. But when customers bought the card the discovered that the card wasnt as good as tests said it was.
This is why its good 2 shop around for good vid. cards.
Personally I stick with ATI (Good pricing for good quality.)

GO ATI!!!

I have an ATI Rage Fury Pro. It works well with Jedi Outcast, Jedi Academy and Elite Force 1 and Elite Force II. It is a few years old now, ut it still is a very good graphics card for running games on. I hope this helped. :frog:
