icon_question Problems with custom made maps

Hello,

Does anybody know how to make the bots stop jumping in custom maps installed in JKII. (I Have version 1.04 and the maps I have are the ones that they use in the JKII Files server)

If you bots are continually jumping around and do not run anywhere in a custom map this means that the mapper has not bothered to set up the bot route file.

For bots to behave intelligently a system of waypoints has to be set up for each map. This governs how the bot reacts to the placement of power ups, walls etc. In order for a bot to be able to follow a route of waypoints and fight you with a modicum of panache or style, a bot also has to have a personality. This is something a good modeler or skinner will do.

Less so now that JKA is out, but in the early months of JKO not so many of the mappers botheresd to set up bot routes. You will also see the term "bot support" in relation to a model or skin. This is the bot personality. (Ever wondered why, if you have some skins/models and you can't find them when you come to chose the bots you want to fight against?--The reason is the model/skin has no Bot support, ie., no personality set up.

There are some good tutorials around if you want to do these for yourself if you really like certain maps or models.

Yeah what Trent said. It means that the map maker havent bothered to implent bot routes wich can be kinda annoying. Trent xplained good so I should just STFU. :P
