Silly question on maps and MD3 models

Many of you will find this question quite silly... but I'm new to mapping, so please forgive me
I need to put some MD3 models (static decorations) in my custom map... so:

-I make a info_static entity and browse to my model.
-I compile
-I see a cube where my entity was supposed to be...

I used a personal made MD3, made with milkshape... ok it didn't work... my mistake!
I downloaded a MD3 froma a Q3 editing site... it didn't work (but in both case MD3viewer showed the object correctly)
I extracted a MD3 and his TGA from the main PK3 of the game and put it in the same directory it was supposed to be (according to the path in the PK3).
Where is my mistake?
Please let me know

I haven't yet got around to seeing all the changes/updates in JORad, but in EFRad you put in a misc_model to get a .md3 in a map.. I'll check later today n let you know...

Does it say can't find the .md3 or some such thing??
That's ok.. when it gives you that window to find the .md3 press cancel.. instead in the entity window your
Key : model
Value : models/mapobjects/blah/blah.md3
It should follow that kind of structure..
To bring up the entity window select the red misc_model box and press 'n'..

uhm... seemed to work.. somehow

some suggestions, if needed!

1) directory for map models is
models/map_objects/

2) I didn't have the "model" to work... but I used some model_Jabba_cam and changed the model... it may be rude but seems to work

And thanx again Exit

ok follow these steps. just note that I'm assuming you have a .md3 you want to put in your map and that you placed it in the correct directory.. i.e. "gamedata/base/models/map_objects/

1. Right click where you want your model to go

2. Select misc>misc_model

3. A window will popup asking the location of the md3.. press 'Cancel'!!! Do NOT press OK!

4. Select your misc_model entity and press 'n' on your keyboard.

5. You will get a popup which shows some stuff.. all you need to do it look for the textbox which say "Key" and "Value"
put these values:
Key : model
Value : models/map_objects/nameofmodel.md3

(note: replace "nameofmodel" with the name of that md3 file)

And if it worked you should now see the mesh of your model in a pinkish-red colour in your grid.
