Smile Use PK3-file

Hi there,

I'm very enthousiastic about making my own models and skins and stuff but first of all I wanted to use PK3-files that were created by other artists. I downloaded them and placed them in the \GameData\Base\ directory.

OK that's all set now... but how do I launch or access them?

Thanks

Tom

What kind of pk3 files do you want to use?

Pk3 files are not generally available for download. Files for download are compressed into .zip files.

Have you unzipped the files (using Winzip) into your base? Generally models or skins, or small saber mods, stance mods u wish to use are unzipped into the base folder.

Then if you look at your menu of characters to chose from in multiplayer, you should see the skins/models you have added. There is an absolute limit to the number of models/skins u can have which will show up in this character menu; it is about 90-95.

nice tips!

My problem is now solved because I thought all PK3 files were active inside the single player mode... which is definitely NOT the case. I wasn't aware of the fact that PK3-files are especially written for a certain mode.

So, the multiplayer works fine with the new skins.

Just yesterday I found a PK3-file ( a mod actually) that replaces stormtroopers with battle droids, in single player mode.
STUNNING!

thanks for helping

Tom
