I am making my first skin, its not brilliant but at least its not another reborn. I am using the jedi model and i have done the default skin and i would like to try it out to see if it looks ok before goin onto the team & other skin thingies. I put all the files in a pk3 wich i put in the base folder in my jk2 directory but when i try to select it in the multiplayer game its not there. I treid doin the /model command but that dont work either it just uses the normal jedi skin. I am creating my own server to try it out.
Somebody plz help me i would like to get into skinning :type:
yeah..that tutorial didn't help me much. I have all of the things you mentioned (.skin, .glm), the things in the .skin match the jpgs, and I have a icon for it...but, I can't see it?
and my .pk3 is a folder
o, and it is 'just another reborn'
(my first skin too)
any ideas?

How does it behaves:
You can play as completly invicible guy?
You can play as kyle?
And "and my .pk3 is a folder" - I don't get it:
To pk3 a mod, you must:
go to folder where you have directories such as "models", "scripts", "sounds", "maps"...
Select all folders you want to pk3
Right-click one
Choose from pop-up menu:
win zip > add to zip file...
As name type:
C:\mymod.pk3
(remember about .pk3 at end)
I followed that tutorial exactly, I unzipped the assets0 file i copyied all the stuff in the jedi folder in the models folder and made a new folder in models/players called jimbob . In this folder I have all the stuff I should like the model.glm and the skin thingies, and yes all the pictures are jpgs exept jimbob_face_02.tga and jimbob_head_01.tga
when i created the pk3 i followed the tutorial exactly, i made a folder on the desktop called models wit players inside it & jimbob inside that i put all the stuff inside it & zipped it all into a pk3 wich i put in gamedata/base
im pretty sure i did everything right so it might be something to do with the game or my pc
