Samurai model request I know modellers don't read requests often (I know, I used to model for Half-Life) but I would like to see three models from The Last Samurai: Olgren (Tom) Katsumoto and Ujio (the cool guy who just wouldn't die). I hope somebody makes these models, but knowing how much trouble it is to make models for JK2/JA, nobody will probably do it. |
Re: Samurai model request I am not speaking as a modeller per se, but I am surprised that nobody in the modelling community has tried to model a samurai with the full armour thing and helmet yet. The potential for detail should (could) appeal to some modellers more so than others. What you have to balance requests with is that some modellers do not actually play JKO/JKA and therefore only experience the buzz from actually making the model. it generally then requires some one sort out skeleton issues to import it into the game, skin it and so on. Generally speaking when you get a really good model, it involves the cooperation of quite a few people. Having said that, I do think that if someone did a good model of a samurai in armour, then it would end up being re-skinned for clans prob as much as the reborn models ever were! |
Re: Samurai model request A lot of people do ask for models like that in a short sentence expecting it to be made. But because moddeling is so complicated and you have to pay for 3dsmax but for not JK2/GTKRadiant, there are not as many moddlers as there are requests and mappers! Also as it has recently come out, you need to give it some time for people to make the model. How long does it take for a model to be made from a movie thats just come out? Well, a while. It takes time, but since you have suggested it, it might just get some peoples attention. |
Re: Samurai model request There's a samurai skin being made, based on the Darth Vader (without mask) model, i dont know if it looks like someone from that movie tho. http://www.lucasforums.com/showthrea...hreadid=122385 |
Re: Samurai model request It did occur to me that probably one of the best starting points for a samurai model would be the Darth Vader model. I believe part of the original inspiration for the imperials had to be a totalitarian regime such as the Nazi regime, also drawing ideas from many aspects of this. Darth's helmet was seems at least partly inspired by the German WW2 soldiers' helmet, and the notion of the Jedi knights from the concept of the samurai and the Knights of Bushido code of Feudal Japan. It's gotta be a short step only from Darth's helmet to a samurai helmet and mask.Yes? (Thinks:When does thinking out loud (called brainstorming) become spamming?) |
Re: Samurai model request And all imp officers looks like ss-mans. Noghris and another races slaved by imperials are like people token to death-camps by nazis. And it is why i love to spawn-and-kill so many imps |
Re: Samurai model request Well actually, before you guys started talking about Vader's helmet and Samurai helmets, I actually had a go at making some armour and a helmet (made from Vader's :) ) and putting it on the Jedi Trainer model. When I find a good host, I'll post a pic. |
Re: Samurai model request Here it is: http://webspace.iphq.co.uk/fanart/samurai1.jpg It's only a quick messing around thing, but I like it. But then of course I like it, I made it. :fistpunch: I need to know if anyone else thinks it's okay. Credits to sithlord-II for the vader helmet, and Raven soft. for the Jeditrainer model. |
Re: Samurai model request Looks great, maybe a bit red, but did samurais have mask for their face on their helmets? |
Re: Samurai model request Look great, except colours. Samurais had silver (bit red, too) armor with 100% silver mask. I hope You will made him more silver. This bone on helmet could be white. Some of his suit should be brown, like leather. Can you make him more fat? I mean he has sooo big helmet. He has an armour. And his hands are so poor that I don't think he couldn't ever carry hi sword. Sorry for this critics, but I want help U :D  7/10  (now) Hope it would be better |
