Question Text File Editing

Ok, so I edited the text file so it would display the name of the unit, and its tool tip encyclopedia entry, but both end up saying Missing when in game, I checked both the code, and the data file to make sure it was right, copy pasted it right in, and still isnt loading properly. What am I doing wrong.
Code below

Code:
<Text_ID>TEXT_UNIT_Venator_Cruiser</Text_ID><Encyclopedia_Text>TEXT_TOOLTIP_Venator_Cruiser</Encyclopedia_Text>
Why wont it work!!! I used to be decent at this part of the programming!!!

I'm going to hazard a guess and say that you are running Windows 7 or WinXP SP 3? (Or Vista)
If so, try either of these two things:
Have the Text file on the Desktop or in the My Documents folder when you edit it, THEN place it where it needs to go;
OR
Run the editor as an administrator. (Right-Click on it, Properties - Compatibility if your on Win7)

Or you could be doing what I still do sometimes and forgetting to save the file once you've edited it

Its a security thing that started with (I think) Win XP sp3.
Basically, Windows wants to protect just about anything that is in a location that is known to contain important things, i.e, 'Program Files'.

That is why you might *sometimes* see a piece of software that asks you to install it as an Administrator; When you do that, it means that Windows will accept that YOU trust the program, and will let it write stuff to 'Program Files'.

Have you noticed that a lot of newer games (Borderlands, Sins Of A Solar Empire, Some Ubisoft games) will store Save-Games and the-like in the My Documents folder?

Windows will let things write stuff to places like 'My Documents' and the Desktop because it knows that none of the important things that it needs to run are located there.

I hope that is clear; it's not my best explanation of what's going on (I posted that about a year ago), but I think it covers it pretty well.

EDIT: Here is a link to my last explanation of this issue - and why it's easier to use Notepad++ to Mod than Notpead:

newer games...HA...I wish i could attempt to play some newer games, granted, I did notice games like Terreria and Magesty HD use it for game saves and the like. My PC is a older model so it wont run Borderlands 2 and stuff like that. I so dream of a day when i can play Skyrim on the PC and mod it to awesomeness.

Do you mean the name of the string?
Hmm.............I've always done it in caps, but really out of habit.
It might be necessary, I'm not sure.

Use caps, I've always used caps and have had no problem with text strings.

The game is case sensitive with text, If it's all caps, the entry in the XML has to be all caps, if it's upper and lower case it has to be the same in the XML.
