Cutom MEG files

...erm... That's custom MEG files, not cutom...

I know you extract data from MEG files but is there a tool, 3rd party or otherwise, that will allow you to create your own MEG files? The reason I ask is because I'm re-vamping most of FoC and EaW's maps to have better textures, more 'cover' areas, etc. and I don't want every map to appear in the "Custom Maps" section (every map is also appearing twice, which is odd). Any help is appriciated!

i think you can put the .ted file in the game data/data/art/maps folder. i have some custom GC maps there.

FinalBIG appears to have no support for MEG files...

Where did you download it from? I could just have an old version or something.

It creates MEG files but I don't think they use they same encoding as the ones in EaW. Every time I try to load the game with my new Maps.MEG file, it crashes.

Re: Cutom MEG files

Im sure you did but im going to ask anyways.did you make sure the maps directories had all the info? as in example in the maps.meg
all the maps start as DATA\ART\MAPS\***.ted

Re: Cutom MEG files

The filestructure I compressed was like so:

Art/Maps/***.ted

I did not include them in a Data folder because the MEG itself goes into the Data folder. Is that the problem? It seems like it would be, now that I think of it. I'll try adding the folder.

EDIT: I haven't tested yet but I actually thought of a workaround that will end up working better for the mod anyway. I'm simply going to re-name the maps to ***_99.ted and let all new and/or graphically enhanced maps fall into the "Cutsom" list. This will let the game keep the original maps, should someone find that their computer can't hande the mass reflections/normal maps/props/etc that I've been adding... Thanks for the help all the same.

Meh, what have I told you before? Units go first, then maps :D :D

I personally don't mind having my maps in Custom Maps list, I just add "(FX)" to their names.

Well, it's not that I really cared what maps where in what list. The issue I was trying to solve was that because I was remaking all skirmish maps, the game would put every map into the 'custom' tab and every map would be listed twice...it was annoying.

Speaking of units though, how are the rigs coming?
