With all the mods out there that try to span the entire story of Star Wars, is it possible to increase the amount of Tech levels, in stead of 1-5, to 1-10?
You could have the rebellion start off with 1-5, then perhaps after Tech 5, a new research center becomes available to the rebels allowing them to research and produce ships of the New Republic Era, with older ships like the Y-Wing being removed/replaced by items like K-Wings on key worlds (kuat, rendilli, coruscant) and the older ships still available for production on fringe planets. 5 levels of space stations could be kept, possibly even spread out more so that they only upgrade on odd Tech Levels. This would allow gameplay to span an much broader timeline.
Can this be done, or no?

It should be possible, yes. However, it may require some scripting, depending on how cooperative the game is. I've accidentally been on Tech 6 before with PR when debugging a script, but since I don't really use tech levels, I can't say how the game would take it overall. But it's possible to go above 5.
it's been talked about, and actually (somewhat) done in a mod that i can't remember before, however i think the space station slots are hardcoded so i'm not sure if you can add new station lvls or not

Station level is limited in the planets.xml file, it is not hardcoded. It is also possible to reach tech level 99, as it is the set tech level for all units that are not to be buildable, such as the Generic Star Destroyer. However, you would be able to build this if you were allowed to buy each tech level untill you are at 99.
I don't know how its done though. Mainly because I don't ever mess with tech levels and stuff like that.
If creating tech levels is too buggy, then the possiblility of upgrading from Rebellion era units to New Republic era units could be done thru story mode. It would be based upon game age. The longer you play the units age, and are upgraded.
I can make a station six, seven, eight, and nine by just coding them in. I don't have models for them so they would all be identical picture wise, but they would be enhanced, stronger, and more powerful. If station level six doesn't work on RotC, then they've messed up the coding.
Uhm the Space Station lvl 6 is Return of the Clones mod but it wont work.
Yep thats right, and I have no idea why it doesn't work. I edited the space stations xml, the game constants xml, the planets xml - I can't figure it out.
Shadowcrow - if you could help me in making a level 6 space station only available at Coruscant, it would be greatly appreciated and I'll add you into the credits for your help.
