Thanks Hicks.

I was also wondering if you could make the muzzle flash red instead of green?

Darth_Windu December 5th, 2007 04:07 AM

Oh a bit more feedback.

The animations could still use some work. I downloaded the latest version and you've fixed the animation error I mentioned previously, which is great. :)

However the general idle animation needs to be worked on. At the moment the animation itself is very short and fast, and doesn't look natural.

I'm also wondering if you could include an extra attack animation, like the 'ATTACK_02' animation for the Stormtrooper model?

Edit: It might just be me, but have the textures changed at all? They seem more shiny than before.

Edit 2: The normal firing animations need improving as well. I noticed that when firing, the troopers non-firing hand doesn't actually touch the rifle, which looks a bit odd.

hey hicks, when you fix all the models but before you make less gumby, can you let me know.

i have a joke mod that i think they will work in :D

Sgt. Hicks December 5th, 2007 07:13 AM

Hey I know they are not perfect anims because I worked on them fast yesterday to fix that one big issue with "spread out". When I fixed that I ended up quickly having to redo all of the anims and maybe the one arm doesnt touch perfectly on the gun but this is additional feedback for when I start the version 2 of the clones. I wanted to get this out there to see if there was a need for it. This is a free release to use they are not perfect and honestly to make them better I have to fix some things with the model so stay tuned and I am sorry but at least there is an available clone to use for now, this is a work in progess and all feedback is welcome. I guess at this point I will start to work on them for version 2 of the P1 clone hopefully to make less gumby haha oh so Knives go ahead the next time I post a file it will be a newer version of the gumby clone haha and new anims as well.

Slow down his Animations then...

Hicks - don't get me wrong, I think it's awesome that you've released this for the modding community. All I'm trying to do is provide some constructive feedback, that's all. :)

Kalo - helpful. One of the problems, as I said, is that the animations repeat. So the position of the gun is

/_/_/_/_

instead of being

/-\_/-\_/-\_

if you can understand that. Basically in the animations as they are, the gun swings from right to left, but then the animation re-starts with the gun back on the right. It doesn't look natural at all.

Aside from that I don't know how to edit animations. Movement speed is easy, but for the rest of them that's not something I can do.

Sgt. Hicks December 5th, 2007 08:27 PM

WIP so please be nice, is it less GUMBY now? Tell me what you think.

Hey Windu I understand and will work on it right now so maybe I will post a new update in a bit about it. but like I said at the top of the page here is the re-work of the body so far.

I'd turn off meshsmooth on the head...it's probably high enough poly as is and looks odd where the parts are supposed to be going in.

Head also looks out of place.

general_kerr December 6th, 2007 07:14 PM

Great model ;) and the head does seen to be having a smoothing problom (you'll notice the dark part at the back of the head) mesh smooth does that, you usurally have to apply the smooth modifyer, but in infantry it may be harder to do cause you can't do auto
