Modding Corruption Feature

I found that the Corruption feature was too powerful. They used their sabotage to destroy all my bases on Coruscant, then attacked it by bribing their way past my other planets. I don't think Corruption is a bad idea, but I think some of it isn't balanced. Does anyone know what XMLs to edit to change these values?

Re: Modding Corruption Feature

1st extract the config.meg file
2nd make a Mods folder in FoC
3 place the extract xml files into the mods folder just like in EAW same folder format then make either a bat file or a shortcut to start the mod just change the folder and executable to match FoC

Re: Modding Corruption Feature

Yes the corruption is unbalanced, like i said the devs didnt foucs on balance they focused on fun for the corruption side.

I know how to code, I'm just wondering what XML to edit, would it be FACTIONS? I don't know, I'll look around for a bit.

There is a stickied tutorial. Its not hard, I taught myself, just look at one of the stickied tutorials. It looks hard at first, but later you wonder how you never knew that. Once you understand the concept, it just is a matter of practice, then its for the most part easy, but not always that quick. It took me a day to code in an Providence and figure out all the bugs in the mod (An ion cannon wouldn't appear because something about a torpedo launcher messed it up). If you still need help I or someone else will help you.

Oh, get the EAW Extractor, I don't know where to find it, try FileFront. Then use it to open the config.meg file in the data folder, then scroll down to whatever XML you want and extract it. From there you can put it in the mod folder, or like I do, create a XML folder in the Data folder and put it in there. I do this because the mod works at startup.

I don't care, I was soooo dissapointed in Forces of Corruption. :bawl::bawl:Not in the new stuff, but how unbalanced it is. Not to mention the story line is idiotic.

Oi, ITS CALLED A DEMO for a reason, is EAW anything like the demo? NO. FOC is tricked out so you can test drive everything

I'm talking about the full version of FOC. What do you mean by "demo"?

If you don't like the the turnout of FOC, then play the original EAW. As for me, I love FOC.

Um when I extracted the files but the are NONE of the new units in it......

Empireftw October 25th, 2006 06:37 PM

Re: Modding Corruption Feature

Hmm ill check i they might just be in a different place.

umm i extracted them and found all the new units in seperate files.

Gorbeh October 25th, 2006 08:09 PM

Re: Modding Corruption Feature

Yeah, I noticed that too, I'm wondering how you'll add units then, there's a few from EAW I want in FOC.

Also why is it that the Kedalbe and Aggressor can be built anywhere. I am modding this...once I figure out how. I mean they are too strong anyway, and they aren't limited to location like the ISD or Mon Cal Cruiser. I've got my work cut out for me fixing the devs' mistakes.

Re: Modding Corruption Feature

Yeah i can see what u mean the game has so many unbalacing mistakes it will take awhile to get them all fixed.

hopefully it wont take too long to get a fixing patch out

Re: Modding Corruption Feature

To me, the galactic conquest got more annoying cuase theres no more small maps. And its hard to manage lots of planets at the same time espcially with the annoying corruption shit. But heres the thing gorbeh, The emperor, Darth Vader, and some other heroes that i dont yet know about can cleanse corruption on a planet. Just drag them to the remove corruption spot near a planet and youll be done in a few seconds. Then you can just move your hero back to where he was. But it does cost 1500 creds everytime you do it, I think ill lower that cost to 1000 or 900. So that the cost for corrupting is either even or lower for the cleanser. But the ground and space skirmish battles have gotten really good. Much better since you can set everything including the tech level and starting creds. Do the Ryloth ground map for 3 people. Its a blast.

Gorbeh October 26th, 2006 03:05 PM

Re: Modding Corruption Feature

Yeah, I know aout cleansing Corruption, but it always got so annoying sending the Emperor to all my Corrupted planets, and I couldn't keep up. Money wasn't the issue. I build mining facilities on all my high income planets, and pretty soon I am 150,000+ credits. Plus I rarely play skirmish. Mostly GC, it involves more strategy and coordination.

Also which one is the Consortium's big capital ship, Aggressor or Keldabe? I heard it is Keldabe, but to me the Aggressor is more powerful.

Ultimentra October 26th, 2006 03:38 PM

Re: Modding Corruption Feature

I think its both... not sure. But Skirmish battles are fun to me. I just cant mod em for some reason.

Gorbeh October 26th, 2006 03:46 PM

Re: Modding Corruption Feature

Ok, I'm trying to figure out which one to limit to the major shipyard worlds. I may have to do both. And skirmish are kind of hard to mod, it is because you have to change so many files...that's one reason why I don't play them.

Re: Modding Corruption Feature

Ya i figured that out awhile ago. But i cant find the XML meg. Help...
