[Help] Menus won't respond to mouse

I tried to get back on BF2 for the first time in about a week yesterday, only to discover that the menus will not respond to my left mouse click. The game recognizes that my mouse is there (the menu buttons become highlighted) but when i click, absolutely nothing happens. I can get past the profile selection screen by pressing enter, but no farther, can anyone help?

• What OS do you have? XP, Vista or something else?
• Have you tried reinstalling the game?
• Are you sure it's a game issue and not a mouse issue?

I just had the same problem. I've played Battlefront within a month, though, when it worked. I've tried using all of my game controllers, and they all work (can move the cursor) but can't click the menu buttons. I've tried installing patches 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3, but still no luck. I even uninstalled Battlefront completely, and reinstalled it, but I still can't click on any buttons. What could this possibly be?

If you can use your mouse to move and highlight each tab hitting enter will open that tab. You can navigate to settings and make sure that the mouse settings are set accordingly.

We can't help much more if you won't let us know any PC specs. Are you running the game on Windows 7? There may be some incompatibility with the new OS. If your running something else than I don't know what else could be the problem. Close any other programs and processes before running the game.

I can press Enter to get past the Profile Selection screen, but I can't can't use Enter to select the tabs on the main menu.

I'm running Windows Vista x32 with 3GB RAM and a Dual Pentium 2 GHz processor. I'll fiddle around with some of my background processes or services to see if one of them's causing the problem.
