Writing a Mod editor Hey, Im really interested in writing my own program for modding, but I dont really know were to start. Any suggestions or links to programing pages? all is appreciated. |
Re: Writing a Mod editor uhhh... The people who wrote Zeroeditor have been spending their lives programming. Unless you went to college and majored in computer programing, your not gonna be able to. Computer Programing isn't somethin you can buy a self help book for. |
Re: Writing a Mod editor ok, well, nm then. I'll figure it out some day... |
Re: Writing a Mod editor misteralmightyslug that's not true you can buy a programming book and they can be quite usefull. so you could make a program for changing side in an instant like the halo hacker tools. (i love that program) becuse that would be really nice. you would just have to find a way to kinda demunge and remunge in a blip of an instant. find out how to infultrate the lvl. file structure and change the side information. you probably could even get it to be ables to reskin if you could load the pick and swap it throught the program. THAT WOULD BE AWSOME. i'll tell my friend (binary_guy or zaputh) and i bet you would be abled to make a really cool swbf II side modding program. anyways, good luck. |
Re: Writing a Mod editor Looking forward to the new editor if you get around making it. I have had my fair share of hard editors.[Grrr...Unreal Ed is HARD....] |
Re: Writing a Mod editor Loshon...thats exactly what you can do with mod tools...why do you bloody need to write a new mod program...Zeroeditor is not that hard to understand. And Loshon, what do you know about writing mod programs? I don't get why you would want to. Zeroedit is just fine for me. |
Re: Writing a Mod editor Is zeroeditor 100% safe to download? I just got my computer running smoothly again and I dont want to mess it up. and its free right |
Re: Writing a Mod editor Completely free. Absolutely virus free. I would download it from FF cause other places dont really scan their stuff well Off Topic: Loshon never call me "misteralmightyslug" again. =) |
Re: Writing a Mod editor ok, im sorry SlugMantheAlmighty, i will never call you misteralmightyslug again. but as i might point out i did not think you could edit sides using ZE. and the side modding process is very long and acually quite hard if you don't know what you are doing. I was thinking maybe a program like HHT would be very usefull for modders who would not be modders because it is complicated to mod but this new mod program was easy to use? and the program would just let you go in, switch projectiles for weapons, change the players weapons, change geometrys that are already in the side file, skin a few things, thing like that. and what do i know about writing a mod program? i know some code like HTML i know how to do scripting things and i have 2 best friends that program. Sean, ZE +Mod Tools are 100% Virus free And FREE. Like, complimentary free. heheh, sorry about my avatar, im not even part of that group anymore. go SIMETRIX!! |
Re: Writing a Mod editor loshon, sorry I kinda asploded at you. I was kinda mad, so normally I'm not like that. But, anyway, Sean you should try Zeroeditor first. Its not nearly as hard to use as writing a new editor, If thats not too obvious already. I don't think a new editor is worthwhile, however, there is onee thing the is, but it'd be hard to make. If you combined all the sides together with all the reqs and odfs and junk to make one giant side, that would make it a lot easier to mod sides, since to make a custom side with units from different teams like in Rise of Thee Empire, you just load a ton of people into the game. Thats just my theory. |
