Question Need help with mod problems

First of all, it's the first time I'm on the site this year, so Happy New Year to everyone!

Ok here's my problem. After I installed SC(haven't installed FA yet) a in September 2007, I patched it, and the only mods I used were "Resource Rich"(included) and "The 4th Dimension". A week ago I dl'd some mods: Ollos' Interface, UEF_Raptor ship, Airborne Engineers, Adv.Point Defences, ShipWreckage, UnderwaterBuildings, Extra T4 Units, and a mod that adds a new UEF T3 building and airship(ship looks somewhat like a half-capsized destroyer). Extracted all of'em to the "Mods" folder, and only some of them showed up in the ModList, so I moved all the .scm files into the "Gamedata" folder in the SC root folder. This time all mods showed up, I activated all of them. Loaded a UEF savegame, yet no mod except 4th Dimension appeared to work. I tried to start a new "Skirmish" game, and I got the "SC has encountered a prob and needs to close". Something is messeup, but I can't figure it out...

you might try and not play wtih sooo many mods. that is allot I may use 3 or 4 and that is including stock mods. but I have one question when it brings up the error is their a new box that shows like error code (like something that some one smarter than us could tell you what the problem is) or dose it just bring up a window from XP or vista. so is the window from the game or OS?

I've reduced the number of active mods to about 5-6, including stock mods. No change, only 4D and Resource Rich work. Time for Plan B(not the subthe actual plan): Uninstall SC, then reinstall it, patch it to v3251, then add al the mods and play. Now, not even 4D works, only the stock mod.

The mods are probably old, and not designed for the latest version, or the mods have conflicting issues when used together. For example one mod tries to modify a unit, and another tries to modify the same as well. If so, then you have a conflict and a problem.

Best advice don't use many mods together, especially big mods that change a lot of things. You cant use multiple mods that change the same units or structures.

I respect the work of other modders, and I don't modify their files unless they say in the readme I'm allowed to do so. Not like I knew how to edit SC mods!

It's easy, open scd files with winrar. The whole game puts it's assets in zipped folders.
