| Bad idea. KotORFiles did this some time back, and it resulted in a community boycott. Same thing happened across multiple mod communities when StrategyInformer recently started doing this as well. Remember, you're hear to serve the mod community. A big part of that is respecting their wishes. Swiping their work without their knowledge nor consent, is not what I'd call "respecting their wishes". Modders tend to get miffed when sites start swiping their work. Because ultimately, it is their work, and if they don't submit it to your site, then either they clearly don't want it on your site, or they don't know about your site - if it's the former, hosting their stuff anyway will piss them off; if it's the former, then hosting their stuff anyway is not going to fix the problem so you're going to be stuck at square one no matter what you do. Going ahead with this isn't any form of "helping out" - in fact, the only thing this rather foolish idea is going to accomplish, is making SupComFiles the pariah of the SupCom community. Try going out there and promoting SupComFiles in order to get the modders and community interested. Also try cultivating community interaction with the site. Having loads and loads of mods isn't going to make the site any more active if people don't know about it, or don't bother visiting SupComFiles because it's inferior to other community sites. However, just swiping mods from all over the place, is not a good idea. In fact, it's a ridiculously terrible one, and no site manager on this network should even be contemplating it. Also remember that this is a network, and so if you go ahead and cause trouble, it's not just SupComFiles that gets in trouble but also the entire network. If that happens, your head is likely to go on the chopping block as far as continued service here goes, because I believe it's been expressly said by network administration that network staff are not to pull stunts like this after what happened the last time. So, seriously. Bad idea, and it'll be about as effective as treating a cancer patient with penicillin - sure it'll fix your low rate of mod uploads, but it won't fix the real problem, which is the site being practically dead. Therefore it's an ineffective solution that will do more harm than good.

| I was not planning on swiping mods I just wanted to see about mods people thought we should have. that's why I want a link to where to get it so I can contact the moder and see if he would like to have his mod uploaded and that it was recommended by some one that uses his mod. and I know that I am apart of a community/network and I have always tried to stay to the highest standards I would just like some input from the community about if their are some mods they would like to see on our site that we dont know about and we will get the mods just like we always have asking the moder if its ok to upload his mod and they are almost always ok with that. and even if its not then people can come here for links to peoples mods even if they are not downloading them from ff, all I'm trying to do is help the community. but if you think that I am endangering the site/network from some moder getting mad and doing something about it then you can close this post because it is your job to protect the community, so I leave the matter in your hands. - Eluvatar/Meredith
