Not working on Vista

Hello all,

I tried installing the game on my Vista Home Premium laptop (Acer Aspire 9423). It lags horribly and makes it virtually impossible to play the game.
I saw the sticky, but those are instructions for XP, and since I don't have the nVidia control panel here, I have no idea how to fix it.

The GPU in this laptop is a GeForce Go 7300 with 128MB memory.

Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Thanks for any help,

-El Bekko

Unfortunately, if I remember right, Bethesda made a statement that Legacy would not support Vista, as Legacy's multiplayer uses Gamespy, which is currently incompatible with Vista.

Honesly, I wouldn't bother with any GPU that doesn't have a minimum of 256MB anyway.

'Ello,

I think it oculd be your hardware, I run this game on Windows Vista and it's sort of fine I just get a bit of static in the sound every so often but that's it. It's Windows Vista Home Premium I am runnin, I've not tried multiplayer yet though.

Well, somehow my (legal)copy of Legacy works fine with vista. Sure it had a few problems at first but over the last few months it has somehow gotten more playable(only reasonable explanation is the Windows Updates).

EDIT:This is from another thread I posted in.

I too had to put Legacy on Vista. At first the overall the game was kinda laggy and the sound was weird at times but now it runs alot better and the sound is no longer messed up for me. Do you have the patches installed? If you do thats your problem. If you're smart like me and read the comments for both patches you wouldn't have them on their. So I think what happened with me was the Windows Updates...only resonable explanation I can think of right now.

WinnerZero has no problems with Vista, but I would try new graphic card drivers! (It helped with many bugs I and some other people had like black registries, ...)

Well, installing patch 1.2 pretty much solved it ;)

And I got rid of Vista by now anyway.
