I don't think that there will be FF Site like ST Legacy Files. But if there were a site, I would buy the game!

I have just learned that it is possible to do city and planet textures in Starshatter TGS!

This means you could do a n invasion of carassia map and have of course a large battle in space, but you could opt to take a fighter shuttle right out of the shuttle bay off a ship fly it through the space battle, break orbit and fly around in cardassia city for air borne ops then return to space!

I truly hope someone will consider doing a Star Trek mod for this game as it's modding potential is incrediable to say the least!

I don't think anyone will, because Moonraker says he won't finish his importer...

the game comes with its own modeling & modding programs. It wouldnt take to much to simply remake the ships instead of trying to import.

What's more in that I am not trying to "push" this game on anyone, I just own both legacy and Starshatter and I am coming to you from the perspective of another gamer.

Legacy is great, and with the mods its even better. I love my copy of legacy, but the cold hard fact is that starshatter can do more. Its not that it is a "better" game persay its just that it is capable of so much with relativly little effort needed to mod or change it compared to the efforts made in modding legacy.

This game can allow you to re-live any Star trek battle in its totality from starship combat to planet engagements.

Someone else has figured out a way to include economy as well so you can trade now.

Its just limitless, what can be done and if an importer is all that stands in the way of that, then it is a great shame.

Star trek gamers have been calling for a deceent title for years and many did not think that legacy lived up to its hype. Now as much as I love legacy, this game, Starshatter TGS, was a game that was made to be modded into others, and can deliver every aspect of the star trek universe (save hand to hand phaser combat).

It is an option that should be considered by all space rts fans, thats all.

At any rate I thank you for your time and considerations

thank you.

why would you wanna port the legacy models? Of course if you were really THAT desperate to have legacy models you could just use the p81 vessels that were released for BC, theyre pretty similar.

Read the thread. It's not discussing porting the stock Legacy models, it's discussing porting stock models from other games to Legacy. Although, it's true that P81's models are similar to the stock Legacy models.

OK, as I said above the game comes with its own modding programs. These are direct quotes from the games manual in it mod section:

"Starshatter TGS is a space simulation mod designer's dream platform. Because Starshatter TGS was designed from the ground up to support so many different play styles - from space fighter combat to aiborne strike to starship battles to fleet tactical encounters. You can use it to create mods for just about any popular science fiction universe that you like. Creating a mod could be as simple as importing some new ship models editing a few text files that define some ship and mission parameters and running the game."- PG 102

"Magic Modeling Program-
This is the current version of the low polygon count modeling tool that was used to create all the ships buildings and stations in the game. All three dimensional artwork in Starshatter TGS must be contained in proprietary format .MAG files that are the native file format for the magic modeling program. Magic is also able to IMPORT meshes in Wavefront/OBJ and discreet/3DS file formats. Magic can also save meshes in OBJ/MTL format for export to third party rendering tools." - PG 103

So as you can see the game is REALLY everyone's dream. I beg you guy's, and file front to give it a chance. It is absolutely amazing and could be the greatest Star Trek mod and game to date. I know this because I have the BGS TNS mod mentioned above and I have seen what they can do.

I will continue to try and generate intrest for this game as I feel it deserves it, I just wish there was a Star Trek mod to advertise to you guys. Then ya might give it a try:P. But again the game is incrediable and comes with its own in game mission editor as well so fans can create their own missions with the mods made.
