I had a question regarding ships in multiplayer. I played against someone yesterday on Gamespy and the ship he was using was a Galaxy class that was named Galaxy x. I realize that he created this ship, but what I don't understand is how he had all quantum torps for heavy weapons and high powered phasers? I played as a plain Sov and with one or two shots from him, my starboard shields were down??

I understand the concept of upgrading the ships in single player and re-naming them, but when I went to create a Galaxy of my own with the same items, I only had room for photon torps.

I also understand how to modify the shield items, weapon items, defaut core and default loadout etc.. and that if you change any of these, you cannot play online.

So I guess what I'm asking is how he did this and if this is cheating or not. If not, I would like to know how to do this?

Also can someone explain how to play the single player conquest mode?
