| Greetings fellow SFC III gamers! Just and FYI that my updated conquest mod is ready. I've uploaded it to the SFC III site and hopefully one of the site managers will have it up shortly. ![]()

| Yes it is. I've been playing it like crazy to find any bugs...nothing yet and the AI even on easy is reluctant to give up...I like that, makes for more of a challenge. It's not up yet, but the Mods are working on it and it should (hopefully) be up in a few days. If not and you would like to give it a try I will give you an alternate site to find it.

| The "Asset Files_Place in Assets Folder" was corrupt when I DL'd it. Re-DL to confirm, but you should check it too. EDIT-Re-Downloaded, file worked. Review of Federation to follow. Last edited by linksword01; 2 Weeks Ago at 06:46 PM.. |

| Federation Review: I only had issues with a few ships: Excelsior-Somehow, My Framerate dropped like crazy, even worse when I fired Weapons. Ambassador-I think it needs wider phaser arcs. I had to move around to fire more than 1 phaser. Defiant/Diablo-Great Ship-Killer, but it needs More Armor to compensate for weak shields. Melbourne/Quasar-Why does it have Borg Weapons, but no explanation as to why they are there? Galaxy-I think it has too many Phasers, and not enough torpedoes. Excalibur-Polycount is Too High Courageous-INSANELY High Poly Count, frames dropped so bad, I thought I was playing on an old 486 PC I loved the federation music. |

| The "put in Assets" file I just downloaded, ran a scan with advast! and the files appear to be fine. Might have been an error with the download on your end or with FF. FF sometimes acts goofy. I'm guessing you were able to re-download the file in working order given the list of concerns below. Quote:
The Ambassador represents an older design and hence older firing arcs that fit the time period it came from...kinda the point, and a challenge if you want this vintage design. If you notice I have Federation ships spanning from late 22nd century to a couple that represent the dawn of the 25th century. The Ambassador is a support vessel in this mod and not really a stand alone combat vessel. Use the Ambassador with more versatile support AI (Norway or Defiant) when engaging enemies or use it as a combat capable vessel for scientific (scan) missions or boarder patrol. The Diablo is a technological trade off. Her increased armor (borrowed from Borg/Dominion technology) and weapon platform allowing her to be an efficient killer, but the laws of physics apply and something has to give. The Diablo shields rotate but are weaker given the power dynamics for this size ship. Best to utilize frontal kill maneuvers and the cloaking device. I have killed large BB's with this ship (once your crew gains more experience)...don't recommend going up against a cube or Scimitar with a rookie crew...probably won't survive. The Galaxy is fitted with cannon phaser/photon arrays as seen in TNG. You can always add additional photon HP to this ship if you want. However, as your crew gains prestige (experience) you'll find (as with all the vessels) that the photon torpedo firing count will increase as your tactical officer skill level increases. The Melbourne uses a "special" Borg-like weapon that can't be used by the BORG in the game. Because of game limitations some weapons may look similar but are vastly different in efficiency and power. The "Borg-weapon" used on the Melbourne is a Federation adaptation of the cutting beam used by the Borg...It, like the Diablo are Federation efforts to combat the Borg. You will find during game play that the Borg have also been ramped up to be more of a challenge. The Courageous class used in this game has a very high ploy count so does the Excalibur. You can download the Courageous class (low resolution) here to replace the one in my game: Courageous Low Res, Starfleet Command III Downloads, Starfleet Command III Federation . The Courageous for this mod is necessary balance to combat the other empire super-BB's. I Don't know if there is a low poly count Excalibur available. I found this ship at BattleClinic. You can check that site to see if one is available. If not, just remove the ship. It is cool, but not a crucial star ship for the game. Let me know how it goes. EDIT: If you start really having lag or choppy game play that probably means you have a RAM issue. SFC III often will have multiple ships join in combat and multiple polies combined with weapons fire, music, etc. will cause severe lag or game crash/freeze.

| I forgot to tell you, the oberth class' systems overlay picture (where you see the weapons and misc systems in battle) was jumbled, or was just not there. |
