That yoda guy, like most people who are either bored or young, did that because he enjoys annoying people... he could quite easily have expressed his views without resorting to insults, but he didn't. He clearly wanted to insult and annoy because he carried on for what was it, two more posts, after people showed signs of annoyance. I reckon if he'd been ignored, he wouldn't have bothered coming back. He'd have lost. Tormented every day of my life because of Trek? Perhaps you overlooked one of my posts either in this thread or the thread you dedicated to this subject (a thread I think we should move this conversation to before either the thread starter or a moderator gets annoyed, BTW :D) where I said I had to convince people that I no longer liked Trek to stop them from annoying me. Two years I tried insulting them back, or making a smart remark, but it gave them a reaction to prove their attempts had worked. And guess what? That was about three years ago when I was still in the middle of high school! Kids! When they realised that there was (as far as they knew) no point insulting me about my enjoyment of Trek anymore, they stopped. Nothing for me to complain about, nothing for me to get irate about. There is nothing you can possibly do to shut people up about something like Trek. Its like the Trek v Wars thread, neither side would ever yield, ever. It would be pointless to 'declare war' on SW fans... it would never end. I can't believe you can't see that. You'd throw an insult, they'd throw an insult back.... and the loop would continue until a moderator arrived and closed the thread or even banned people. And life's too short for a pointless, never ending argument about a TV show. Its too short to be offended by people insulting you. Usually they have some kind of problem with their self confidence or something (I don't know, ask a psychiatrist) and it makes them feel better to make someone else feel bad. Lol, this conversation is rapidly turning into something along the same lines; I have an established view, and you appear to also have an established view, and we'll argue till we're blue in the face that we're right. You'll never convince me that insulting people back will make them leave Trek fans alone (its not like you can kill them to make them stop). And while I believe that if your smart, ignoring them will keep them quiet, you obviously don't and will never accept it. I think we should do with each other what Wars and Trek fans should do, and just agree to disagree. Before the thread started comes back and wonders if he's in the right place :D. |
(I didn't say you where tomented) (and Yoda never came back) as far as arguing, I thoght that was what Forums are for,lol I know people like Yoda, They do it just because thay want to, for the hell of it and maybe your right, that we shouldn't go to war (and as far as tormanting, I have always been alone until middle school, whith people not just annoyning me, but doing nasty things to me)(they still do, in fact worse, stealing things from our yard, Musterd/kechup/mayonays all over the car, mailbox, and doornobe, smoke bombs, and fire works in our yard) ignoring them won't make them stop, as I sayd before, I know people like Yoda, I tryd it for a long time, but they still get a kick out of it, but your right, no more insults, I just want Trekkies to stand up for themselves (actualy, I have a few SW frends, 1 of them usualy can see both sides of the argument) Go here for what I have to say to Yoda: http://www.gamingforums.com/showthre...threadid=71201 |
Wow, have you not reported the people to the police? People like that aren't trying to annoy you at all, they're not just insulting you. They're criminals, and should be treated as such. Whats the word the old folks use, yobbos? I can't believe their risking criminal charges just because you like Trek; unless you said or did something to them to set them off, I guess they just have a chemical imbalance or something. Yoda's hardly the same cup of tea... but I guess he could still be treated as such. I mean, he is breaking the forum rules with some of the stuff he says. Perhaps every insulting post he makes we just report to a moderator. He'd either stop after persuasion of them, or get banned if he carried on. But if you're enduring that sort of antagonism, I can't imagine you deam this sort of childish behavior as anything to hurt your feelings... surely yoda's a welcome change? And I was thinking of another thread in the Trek forum where Yoda made an appearence. The thread was called something like 'where do they put their waste?'. He got a response, sarcastic though it may have been, suggesting those he'd insulted were hurt, and came back for more. On the theme of the moderators, here he didn't come back after his comment was 'filtered'... perhaps another sign of what we should do. And way to go on that other thread of his... perhaps comparing him to some of the most evil people and organisations of history was a 'little' harsh :P, but it sure told him. I reckon we should go the moderator direction when dealing with people like yoda, it seemed to shut him up last time. Anyway, enough. I still think that those rooms on the Enterprise E are crew quarters on the saucer, and storage rooms or simple bulkhead failsafes (y'know, like the Titanic had :S) everywhere else. |
(It wasn't because I like trek, it's because I am just one of the outcasts in school, and the Police can't do anything (besides the stiling) only they where breaking cerfew)(this is why I stand up for myself and don't surrender) (actualy that where do they put there trash was my forum, lol, and that what I was refering to, and Yoda didn't come back on the other one eather, he was doing it for the hell of it) I still think there turbolifts |
I don't know why they'd put turbolifts at the far end of a ship, I think they're put in a more centralised location. Otherwise you'd have to walk the whole distance of the saucer to get to it. From what limited info I remember on the standard layout of a turbolift system, you get one central turbolift running down the center of the saucer, with branches coming off occasionally. You get one going down the 'neck' to the engineering hull. I never saw a diagram of a Sovereign-class, but I would have thought it would be similar. Besides, if they tilted like that, you'd fall over :). |
lol, good point let's just call them mastakes, and leav it at that, lol |
lol, maybe. But I still think crew quarters... you can see the gradual slope in some less 'streamlined' ships such as the Galaxy-class... imagine sleeping right under a window as it sloped so much, with a perfect view of the stars... |
Ok look, I agree with both of you y2ktm2: As much as it pains me to say, its just a TV show! And theres no reason to start a large war! matt_el_g: y2ktm2 and myself (and everyone who likes star trek) where directly insulted by Yoda. And for some people (myself included)(I know I'm a sad berk) Star trek is a way of life! So lets all do as Gene himself would have had us do, and lay down our weapons. |
(Lt. if you look in another thread, I already apologized about the war thing, and where not talking about that anymore) |
Ok, Yay! |
