| Does anyone else think that the soundtrack of this movie is awesome? I've been listening to it for 2 days now, it is the best movie soundtrack I've heard in a long, long time.

| No because that's the sort of thing that would make this film into your typical average Trek film that only Trek fans watch, and not the blockbuster that will hopefully revive Trek into something we can enjoy more often than 90 minutes once every 5 years. The extra information and comics etc are there for the people that care, but no it's not really all that relevant as far as I'm concerned. There's a big nasty ship. Whatever it is, it has Romulans on it. They're travelled back in time by accident. They're pretty much insane and/or evil and their ship is obviously much newer and much more powerful than any 'current' ship. We can nitpick all we want but do we really need to know more than that? Adding a load of trek-technobabble would have just ruined the pacing of the film. This coming from someone who owns 3 different editions of the Star Trek encyclopedia as well as the TNG and DS9 technical manuals and a number of other books, so I do 'care' about this stuff, but it has it's place and this film wasn't that place.

I can't see how one can become the other. What did they do? Inject Octopuses and Steroids into the Hull?Annoying isn't it? There doesn't seem to be any information anywhere on those other ships. Klingons (like already mentioned) have been done to hell and back, especially throughout the TMP movies. However, this is a new universe, new experiances, new Klingons. ![]() It would be nice to see another though. Tholians or Gorn would be good, or maybe the Xindi? Wouldn't bet on seeing the Breen though, they're not 'known' enough (even in DS9). If they went onto them, then Starfleet would probably have a lot more info on them by the time the Dominion War struck. Quote:
Heck, if most of the Empire was using the Norexan Warbird (ST:Nemesis), Nero could have grabbed himself a D'Deridex. Pop that out of a Black Hole next to the Kelvin, we'd have seen how big the new Starfleet ship was then at least. Quote:

| Somehow I don't see a mining ship captain having access to a military vessel, certainly not some kind of Warbird. Especially if the Romulans were doing their traditional isolation/military consolidation, which after that sort of event wouldn't surprise me while they rebuilt their civilisation away from Romulus/Remus.

The background info on Nero may not have been needed for the big screen (Which I respectfully disagree with) but it would be a big draw for a directors cut Blue Ray edition.
