Hmmm, well i like all star trek, but i watch tng the most, so i gotta vote for picard. Kirk is great too, but picard would have to be my fav, thus most of my screen names in games, ims, etc. are PICΔRЙ
"the picard song".. i love that tune!!! this one is animated
oh and has kirk ever been assimilated by the borg and come back?
has kirk ever been trapped inside the holodeck?
has kirk ever saved the ship from a virus that infected the entire ship? (i don't actually know on this one.. has he?)
Picard all the way. Kirk was a great captain, but the majority of his decisions were based on the shoot first, see if there are any survivors, shoot them, then forget about asking questions and make assumptions instead. Picard tends to study the situation and then make a smart choice. He had no problem destroying the Borg cube. Don't forget that Picard had a doctor who was much better looking than bones. Mind you, Scotty is the best engineer hands down. Tough call.
But seriously, Kirk kicks arse. And you really have to understand that Kirk didn't really have the luxury of studying every problem, and for most of the problems Kirk had, the Answer was indeed to shoot.
