Re: Enterprise may have a chance yeah...well roddenberry is dead and now its time to move on to bigger and better things... :) ON WITH THE WAR!!!! |

Re: Enterprise may have a chance no, what made enterprise lacking is how it made thecnologies that seemed more advance than what was in TOS, and some lacking graphics IMO... half-naked woman was not straying from the path of star trek. those girls you see in TOS were very controiversial at the time, so in comparison to what we see now, we should be seeing naked women... as for explosions and what not, yeah those were actualy lacking a bit too... enterprise isnt the worst thing to happen to star trek, even though it had some things to work out... but ds9 on the other hand, that gay hippy soap opera crap-fest is a trotal disgrace to star trek, i myself refus to accept its official involvment in the star trek timeline... |
Re: Enterprise may have a chance DS9 was probably effected the timeline the most out of all of the series... you can't just disregard the Dominion War... besides, it was pretty good overall... why do you call it "that gay hippy soap opera crap-fest"? |
Re: Enterprise may have a chance Knowing a little more as I do...The girls in TOS were always "suggestively" dressed and nothing inappropriate to views was ever seen... That was also Genes objective...Not to offend others who watch the show but stand up for human rights... Homosexuality may be a human right but it's not inalienalble or necessity of life such as freedom...That has to do with freedom of choice.... Everyone has there own Opinion on that of course |
Re: Enterprise may have a chance the 'half-naked' women of TOS were controversial at their time because the norms of the society were the way they were back then. the half-naked women of enterprise have absolutely nothing to do with any intellectual discussion of social themes such as sexual liberation, women's rights, civil rights or any of those issues. enterprise shows flesh because they hope to up the ratings. DS9 showed how families (and humans) dealt with situations in roddenberry's visionary future. roddenberry created a better future for mankind and DS9 showed how life is in that future and how people deals with extreme situations (and i'm not only talking about war). if you want explosions and big battles, i suggest you watch band of brothers instead. star trek is not about war but about lives. |
Re: Enterprise may have a chance http://forums.filefront.com/images/smilies/adore.gif Praise you Dreadnought [DK] for you understand the vision of Star Trek as do a few others. I completely agree with your statement. |
Re: Enterprise may have a chance Wise beyond his years....is he not Guyver.... Since when are vulcans so promiscuous.... The vulcans in the motion picture were in robbes...true it was cerimony The did show variations in vulcans in ToS some beautifull, or ugly bald and soforth... Some were clothed like real women but please...Going to work in a cat suit.... You could justify that with the regeneration suit for Seven but T pol must have been very uncomfortable....it was nothing hitting a proffesional |
