Default Cannot Repair Ship Hulls

Hello, I'm currently playing SFC III and am about halfway through the Romulan campaign. I had a Hawk class Cruiser and had hull damage from a fight. I went to the nearest starbase and went to the Supply Dock screen to repair. I needed 661 prestige points to repair my hull, but the repair button was grayed out as if there was no damage. I had over 2000 points; plenty to cover the cost.

So I went to the refit screen to see if I could repair it through that method. As soon as the refit screen came up, however, my prestige points went to zero. I pressed accept and my hull was repaired but my prestige remained at zero.

I bought a new class ship, but the problem persists.

So I can repair my hull that method now, but it costs me all my prestige. Even when I have over 10,000 points and the damage only requires 600 to repair.

I can also go to the shipyard and buy the same class ship, if it's available that is. However, I then have to re-refit it which is very tedious.

I remember having this problem in other play-throughs in the past as well so it's not a one time thing either.

So is there anyway to fix this problem or perhaps edit prestige points or hull damage in a save file?

Any help would be appreciated.

This is a issue with the 'out-of-box' install. To correct this, you'll need to install the patch: http://starfleetcommand3.filefront.c...anguages;28800

you'll need to uninstall your game and then remove the prefetch folder marked as 'Activision' after you uninstall (you'll loose your saved game). This file is often stored on 'program files' under 'my computer'. If you have more than one game installed by Activision, just delete the SFC III folder within the Activision folder. Then reinstall the game (do not install Direct X 8 or GameSpy). Once installed, install the patch. The patch includes Direct X 9.0C which SFC III needs to optimize game play. The patch reblances the game and corrects issues/gliches found in the game, including those problematic in the Supply Dock menu.

Let me know if this corrects the problem.

Thank you,

I played through the Romulan campaign with almost no problem. I didn't need to repair my hull too often, but there was only one instance where the Repair button was grayed out. However, once I resupplied my marines and pressed accept the button lit up and I was able to repair.

I did have the patch installed before, but never thought to delete the folder and do a full install beforehand. So hopefully I won't experience the problem anymore, or if I do, resupplying first like the example above will hopefully fix it.

Thanks again for the help.
